FA Vase Fourth Round

Recommended Posts

Maybe we could use this thread to discuss the Bournemouth v Royston Town tie which appears to have been largely forgotten, what do we know about Bournemouth, I see they are tenth in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division having lost six times this season so they’re clearly beatable.

I fancy Royston to hit semis if not the final they are certainly capable of doing so and I would bet they would easily get over 1000 for the home leg of semi. 33-1 I might just stick a tenner on them

Winslow Boy - And the rest, an FA Vase Semi Final at Garden Walk would attract 2000 plus easily particularly against a Wisbech Town or a Whitley Bay

Well lets see what you know about Bournemouth first eh?

Their nickname is The Cherries and they play at Dean Court, they had a famous strike partnership in the 1970's of Ted MacDougal and Phil Boyer and they beat Manchester United 2-0 in an FA Cup 3rd Round tie in 1984. In 1971 Bournemouth beat Margate 11-0 in an FA Cup 1st Round tie at Dean Court with the prolific MacDougal scoring nine.

That's just it, I didn't need them and neither would other connoisseurs of the game such as Sjj2112, Horace, Football Man, The Cold End and Royals26. Here's a question for you, which famous league Club who wear old gold play at Molineux, do you know.

You really couldn't make it up could you? If Galton & Simpson wanted to write a new sitcom they wouldn't have far to look to look for material. I can see someone being their new Steptoe Sr.

Comedy gold folks. Pure comedy gold. Hahahahaha!

I see that Paul Attfield is keeping his feet very much on the ground despite the Club reaching the Fourth Round of the prestigious FA Vase, he insists that the League must remain the priority this season even if he plans to go and watch Bournemouth before the tie on 21 January:
