Could have been a lot worse for both SSML sides - both in terms of distance and opponents. Whitley Bay are a Step 3 side in disguise and best avoided until the final!

Tipton. Steve Bull Tipton Terrier legend. Sorry you lads have to go to Sandwell (if Tipton win) scum scum scum. Doesn't look like the worst draw and on your form got to fancy yourselves against most sides.

Can't see how they have Peterborough Northern Star (UCL Prem) at 14/1 when Royston are 33/1 ?

On a game by game basis there are often very good odds as the bookies don't really know the market this low down.

I think 33/1 each way on Royston Town is a great bet, if they get through to the last sixteen that will be cut in half

Of the 4 Step 6 teams left in the competition and based on current league positions Oadby Town & Wisbech Town are the lowest ranked sides both currently 5th in their respective leagues.

Step 6 is guaranteed at least one side in the last 16, the winners of the Oadby Town v Ampthill Town tie.

There’s a decent report on last night’s replay on another’s Forum:

FA Vase 3rd Round Replay

Tipton Town 1-2 Oadby Town

Admission £5

Programme £1

Att: 82 (h/c)

Soup and Bovril: Both 80p

After meeting up with Mad Mick in the Court House Dudley for a Mild and bag of Pork Scratchings beforehand (nothing like stereotyping is there it was off to the Black Country's very own theatre of dreams for a rare Midland Alliance ground tick.

It is as soulless as everyone has mentioned before. Even on the far side where the dug outs are situated, they appear to have been strategically placed so you can't see both goals from anywhere stood along that side.

The bar - A fruit juice and small Coke cost more than 2 pints did in the pub earlier

As for the game, 2 poor sides not helped by a blustery wind blowing straight down the pitch from the Asda end.

Oadby with their small bunch of travelling supporters doing their best to create an atmosphere took the lead on 35 minutes - keeper very hesitant coming for a hopeful free kick hoofed into the area, spilt it and eventually following a scramble Oadby forced it over the line. Tipton then went straight up the other end and crashed an effort against the bar.

On 54 minutes Oadby made it 2-0. Again the keeper has to be questioned. A low long range free kick he allowed to skid over his diving body and in.

Tipton huffed and puffed without really threatening to look like scoring until the 90th minute, when scrambled a goal back. Que 4 minues where Tipton could have scored twice more but to no avail.

Finally - fair play to the Tipton old boy who was ball boy who appeared to have 6th sense as to where the defenders were going to hoof the ball out stand side rolling another ball back to them immediately.
