Lowestoft 1 Ricay 0

Obviously a disappointing result for us, but I left feeling quite positive about our chances going forwards.

Lowestoft were title favourites pre-season, still are now and yet there was very little between the sides in the game. If we weren't already, we should now be confident that we are as good as anyone else in this league.

I thought we had the better of the first half - both keepers swapped good saves, but we had the bulk of the play and should have scored when H hit the post. We had another decent opportunity but Sam took an unnecessary extra touch and their defender was able to get a block in.

I thought they had the better of it in the second half but it still took a very good free kick to get past us. We kept at it though and had we managed to grab an equaliser I don't think anyone could have compained.

At the risk of igniting an old debate, I would be interested to know why Junior is not starting at the moment. I think his blistering pace is a vital part of our team set-up this season -It gives us an outlet and makes it much harder for the opposition to play so high against us. I think H has done very well in the last few games, but I think the stats will speak for themselves. No striker on the bench is also a bizarre state of affairs.

We have some tricky games coming up in the next few weeks but I'm hopeful we can get back to winning ways very soon if we continue to show the same levels of effort and commitment as we have been.

Come on you Blues...

Good round up jl, there wasn't alot between the sides at all, if we had junior a bit earlier or from the start then it would of given us a different dimension to play.

we didnt seem to impose ourselves on them at all, and i think i can recall about 3 times we tried to get the ball down and knock it around, but that was enough for a game like yesterdays.

Maybe that result will give us a kick and think that if we can maintain our form we are going to be in the hunt, still along way to go though.

Agree with you jl aswell, we are lacking attacking options on the bench, Jay May isnt going to be able to play every 90 mintues till the end of the season, so a few fresh faces in that department would be nice and also a central midfielder who wants to control the game, to replace Semakula.

Next week will be a good test though, one we need to bounce back and get a good result going into the xmas period!

It's a welcome change for us to be looking over our shoulders at the top, rather than our customary lower position. Of the six teams currently behind us, we have now played five away picking up 9 points and both defeats were by single goal margins.

Craig and the boys have done brilliantly, often in difficult circumstances - they deserve a good turnout next Saturday and no Christmas shopping excuses !!!!

It was a very even, and entertaining game, Jim Green said to me at half time, "this is a One goal game" and he was spot on.

Blue Pilgrim makes a very good point re us having played 5 of the top six teams behind us, away from home.

Last week we put in one or two seven day'ers, so there may be a new player or two on the horizen.

Re no striker on the bench. Our laonee Simeon sent a text in the early hours of Saturday morning saying he wouldn't be travelling. He has now been sent back to a Boreham Wood.

A cracking weekend spoilt only by the result but not the performance. A top of the table clash with a big crowd and great atmosphere at the seaside (April would have been nicer)

I agree it looked as though a single goal would settle it and it took a cracking free kick to win the game for them. I still think we looked the stronger side and we will hopefully return to winning ways on Saturday.

I thought we looked very strong defensively but lacked our usual sparkle going forward. I thought the new lad Green looks a good addition and linked up well with Harrison.

Eighteen games in and we are top the league and as BP says the most difficult away games out of the way.

I think the only one of the top 5 we haven't played away from home is you.

Always disapointing to lose an important game like that but always nice to still be top at the end of it :P .

Personally i was not impressed with Lowestoft they didn't look as good as they did in the two games we played against them last year, only a wonder strike winning the game for them .

But we now have 4 of the next 5 game sat home and the one away game just up the road at Concord so no real travelling till 2012 hopefully we can pick up a few points and stay top till the New Year.
