Being cherry picked......

A topic for both Premier & Div 1 clubs......

Firstly please excuse my ignorance about players contracts but can the CCL contract players without remuneration?

Now the main question.... With certain forum members understandably on the prowl for new players for their teams how can the team managers with little or no budget building sides protect themselves from being cherry picked from sides of teams from a higher level who flash the cash? I use that term as just playing at a higher level is only a 50% incentive (managers at a higher level use monetary incentive for the other 50%).

Whilst no one wants to stop players from being the best they can be, surely in difficult financial times for all (well most) clubs in the lower ranks of senior football, consideration can be given by those with the money to poach players for the clubs they currently play for?

Whilst I am not naive enough to think that this is not a fact of life, perhaps clubs and the league should work together to ensure we all survive.

.... I can see it now Smudge the CCL union chief!!

Home early tonight, sober as a Judge. How i get a mention in this thread amazes me.Know nothing about Contracts at all,but would offer this advice, put the said Player if he is willing on £30 a week Contract, this stops the vultures.Croydon did it with Frances Ameyaw at Croydon last year,at least that way,it stops every Tom,Dick.and Harry putting in 7 day approaches for the said Player.if they are genuine approaches though, they would have to pay your Club a Fee for his services,I believe if he was to Transfer.Naiviety is what the Clubs with money thrive on,teams who have no resources to pay players, will always find this happening.

once you are 24 you can leave on a Bosman. If you are under that gae and can't agree a new contract when your existing one expires, you have to got a tribunal to find out how much it would cost to leave (or for another club to buy). If you don't leave but can't agree, then you go onto a week to week contract with the wages of your last contract. At the end of the contract under 24 and the club wants to release you, then they are entitled to do so.

If you sign the blue form, even for a quid a week, it applies.

Different slant on this....Uput a player on a 40 week contract cos he is the dogs... 4 weeks into the season he is pants.... u then have to buy him out or honour his contract... its a 2 way onion....

Always thought that the FA stipulates a minimum wage should a player go on contract ?

Does that not apply to CCL ?....VP and GF where are you..... !

Corinthian Casuals some years ago after losing player after player I believe put there guys on £1 contracts in an effort to secure a transfer fee rather than stop players progressing but as NG says the law of the land (not the FA) states that you have to pay the National minnimum wage so that scupperred that.
