How many Grays fans were there???

Not many - 30 - 40 maybe.

We were expecting / hoping for 100 as this was a local / top game.

Haha you [censored] joker! More like 80-100 plus all some that didnt pay as we were in the bar early and then just walked down the steps to the ground. Nice ground by the way! Remember we wear blue and white scarves as well!

Not sure how anyone can predict how many fans we had there as our fans always spread themselves around the ground....we've generally been taking 75-100 to all away games this season, and would have thought a similar number yesterday.

Anyway, thought the game could've been an excellent one, but it wasn't to be. Yes, it was end-to-end, but as players from both sides said to the ref, he did his best to ruin the game. I really don't think there was one bad tackle in the game.....I'd like to think I'm fair and to be honest, but some of the bookings were laughable (for both sides). Joao Carlos' midway through first half came as he was sanwiched between two ET defenders and he challenged for the ball.

We pressed hard for the winner and came close, but it wasn't to be. At the time the offside goal seemed a harsh decision and unfortunately not conclusive from the footage, and I would have taken the point at that time.

Great headed winner for you guys which signalled my exit!

Excellent work on the ground and one you can be very proud of.

What an enthralling match yesterday and what a great week for the Town. Three home matches, three wins, nine points, and top of the table for the first time this season. What a wonderful start to life in our new home at the QE Stadium!

We all have our own opinions about result yesterday. It could have gone either way, and yes Grays are a good side, but Town's ten men battled hard and showed great character and determination to stay in the match, particularly in the second half, and it was fitting in the end that Jon Moore, one of the most talented players to play for the Town, should decide the outcome of the contest with a stunning late winner.

There is a long way to go, and plenty more twists and turns to come, but this Town squad of players are playing with great belief, they have lots of ability, and they never give up. Couple that with a very good manager, and there is genuine reason to hope that this might be our season.

Well done Steve, the players, and everyone who has worked so hard to get the club to where we are today.

One final comment. Very well done to Ciaran on the content, quality and presentation of our club official programme. It is top quality, and must stand a very good chance of picking up an award this season.

I think ChrisJones summed up my 'consistent' reference to the referee.

I was worried about the number of people who came on to the pitch before Osie got sent off and after the goal. All it takes is for a referee to report this and we could be looking at a fine which I don't think we want.

Great to celebrate a goal, but do it off the pitch.

Glad this twat posted, as it displayed the evident underhand attitude which exists in the Gray's set up, where supporters openly boast of evading entry into the ground to the 'Adam's family' contingent which follow them and do football no credit, yet try and express a high moral ground, those closer to the pitch side will know what i'm referring too, laughable. If the Gray's directors are reading this then maybe they'd have the courtesy to either offer to donate the non paying entries or apologise for the shallow level which some of their supporters regard is a success. I'm glad I don't support GAFC.

The game itself was a battle and the team which coped with the ref's poor decisions better won, although the offside goal and framework of the goal gave us an uncomfortable time, which we overcame. For gut's and quality we deserved at least a point, the fact we snatched all 3 at the end is credit to the playing staff and management. Not half way through the season yet and a long way to go, we need to also see off Leiston next week then get rid of the Thamesmead voodoo so that we have the best platform possible going into xmas/new year. Well done everyone at ETFC.

Not sure how someone can get into the bar without going through the turnstiles, but if someone can, then the access route needs to be closed off on matchdays to stop them gaining free entry.

I'm happy to be of service pointing it out to you :) We walked in about 1245. For the record I went downstairs and some bloke in orange let me out and then told me I could not come back in unless I went through the turnstiles which I did, although the other people I was with did not Although they all bought 50/50, golden goal, and a programme (excellent read) each, plus probably made up in lost gate receipts by spending the whole second half in the bar.

As for you Enfield United, I look forward to seeing you at Rookery Hill where you can explain you aggressive insults to me!!

Easy to answer that one.

The turnstile was not open but the bar was and anyone / everyone could just walk in via the front glass doors.

Thats how I walked in and up to the bar.- ( I have a season ticket )

Tighter control required, or open up turnstile is the only way to stop this happening.

May be a one off as I believe there were a few stewards missing yesterday.

Thanks for the offer, but i'll probably be watching the game with my two youngsters.

I'm glad you paid to get in, but I'm sure you'd agree that 'happy non payers' are no good for your club (as a matter of image) and totally against the spirit of football at our level, where clubs are run by volunteer's and rely on gate receipts as it's bread and butter income, although the organisational blame is all down to ETFC.

Now I don't know what dialect your accustomed too, but this posting as with the original one is written in a calm manner as there is no room for aggression in step 4 footy. I'm sure you'll agree.

Erm... You called him a twat (your words), and think that isn't aggresive. hmmmm

Some serious backtracking me thinks. Squeeky bum time?

Think before you post, after all you are a club official are you not?

Sad attempt to stir, but I stand by calling those who did'nt pay to enter any ground at our level 'twat's', and if thats aggressive then you need to get out more.

The only squeeky bum I have concerns the fact our club are currently involved in a tight four horse race for the league title and there will certainly be plenty of sqeeky bum's this Saturday. Now thats football.

No attempt to stir, just stating fact:

You (a person who is a club official) called a poster a name, and made several other offensive remarks about his/her club presuming that the poster hadn't paid themselves.

When (s)he called you to task on the matter you made a hasty retreat (maybe the squeeky bum remark was a bit tongue in cheek)

My comment on "think before you post" relates to the fact that the club that have had previous problems with club officials making hasty remarks in the past and costing them dearly.

You have a nice new ground, getting excellent attendances, and are doing well in the league and in the 2 performances I have seen deserved the victories. (I payed to get in btw :) )

So, as you can see, I stand before the comments I made.

Interesting discussion between ETID and EU.

I used to work in Derbyshire many years ago and called someone a twat. I did not know that to the north of the country twat is the equivalent of the "c" word in the south and my language caused tremendous offence. I note that on this board twat can freely be written however other swear words are automatically deleted and changed to asterisks. Perhaps the board organiser needs a vulgar dictionary before adopting arbitrary offence rules.

EU I think that you should climb down and apologise and not try to take the moral high ground.

BTW on a couple of occasions I have got into grounds for nothing. Wingate and Finchley for one when I arrived ten minutes late and there was no one on the gate. Hillingdon Borough was another a few years ago and I recall that there was a club last year but cant remember which one it was. I dont think it is a heinous offence if clubs cant be bothered to organise the gate then so be it. It is the club's responsibility to see that all attendees pay not the fans.

I say good luck to the Grays fans who got in for nothing. I am sure it wont happen again.

I remember our club moaning a few years back when the players entrance was unmanned and a few Enfield Town fans came in for nothing,I have done the same at Romford(that was planned as I didn't want to give the plinlets my money)

All clubs have fans that do it,times are hard for some and saving a tenner may seem like good business,if clubs police their grounds properly it simply doesn't happen

Seeing as I was born and raised in Grays, I am used to naughty words :) To be fair I don't think they would have minded paying but as I said, I think they just spent the money they saved on more beer in your bar!

Guy's, I respect constructive comments and i'm not too proud to climb down and apologise if I've said anything that was far offensive than I originally thought (as Steph explained), bt thats a word i've picked up being a Man U fan.

ETID-I'm not an official as far as I know, I just look after the ressies and am nicely qualified to do so. But thanks for the comments.

MaldonB-I'm glad you've turned the spirit of convo to a healthy banter.

Steph-You shock me at not paying. But if the turnstiles are open and no one manning them, then it's different, especially as the games ko.

Anyway, this has dragged and my comments were made at the heat of the after match exuberance as well as the hassle which occurred (however minor it was), Let's all move on and good luck to all this weekend, especially the TOWN.
