Didn't play well today so have to be happy with the point. Mind you the opposition were superior to those we have met lately.

Very poor defending gave them their goal. Our goal should have been easily taken by their keeper but though slightly unsighted the ball moved/swerved about also & away from him (I was right in line with the shot at the time), just enough for him to be left standing looking at the ball go past & into the goal.

The interception of the year was made today too i.m.o. Appiah in injury time looked a certainty to score but how their chap got back to intercept is beyond me. I fell to the ground at the time (literally) in disbelief.

So,though would have been undeserved we could have nicked all 3 points at the death but again,am mightily happy we got something out of the game having seen a mediocre performance.

Thought they bullied us and to be honest that is what Canvey do (they bully and complain). Thought we were always gonna beat them because they were a solid (thick) team and their prowess on the ball was hopeless. CR looked knackered today and should have been subbed - bring on the better teams that CAN play football cos this shower of S...e were nowhere.

We gave Canvey their goal by first of all Stubbsie hacking at it and giving it away to them and when the ball came straight back we defended it badly - it was not far off their only proper strike on goal. All they seem to do is claim things that weak refs then give them - it happened countless times today. Why oh why does our goalie wait until everyone is in position massed in one corner of the park before kicking it into the ruck ? Just once for a change why not put it to the other side of the pitch where there's loads of space and no opposition and a chance for Bodkin and the like to peel off, get hold of it unfettered and bear down on goal. CK should stop the continual hoofing by our defence as well - if we had played football today we would have beaten them easily.

One of the highlights of the day today for me was meeting Danny Kerrigan after the match. Without his bad injury he would have been a Margate legend.

That's what we do and it hasn't been a problem in the last few weeks when we have been winning. A point against canvey is not a bad result.
