Eastside Urchin

The Absolute garbage this bloke comes out with is unreal,Mr Fenn, these supporters you are talking about??? Were they plastic cut outs on hasbeen hill where you was sitting on your own for the Carshslton game???

Well done Sid for saying it how you see it,they just don't get it down there, wherever there and their pathetic little club is!!!

Well good luck to them with that! It's strange that given the number of clubs up and down the country that have had new grounds built, the South East has seen few if any new developments. I can't think of a club apart from Maidstone who have actually made any progress (oh, sorry forgot Dartford).

I'm curious as to the venue Grays will be playing at next season if ETU is out of the picture; one thing I doubt is that they'll be groundsharing at Hornchurch!

alan fenn Posted 1 day ago

If Grays want to groundshare with Hornchurch and the council agree, thats exactly what they could be doing next season.

Barry Morgan Posted 1 day ago

Do you honestly think that LBH would allow GAFC to share at AFCH when we are still without a permanent base?

And not being picky but isn't this a Non Boro News & Discussion item like the one I am just about to post?

Graham Booth Posted 1 day ago

My apologies Bazzington. I wasn't paying attention when I posted it

Michael Woods Posted 1 day ago

There is enough antipathy between Grays and Hornchurch to make a groundshare improbable.

alan fenn Posted 1 day ago

I met a guy from the L&R department at the LBH this afternoon and we was talking about the state of the finances at the council, and how difficult it is to maintain the status quo due due to central funding issues. Hate to admit it, but the council are doing a grand job in keeping everything ticking over.

We also have to take into account that if Grays get promoted to RPL there's not many options open to them if they have to leave Thurock that have the necessary ground grading requirements.

Phil Redwin Posted 8 hours ago

Thurrock FC?

Actually Alan does have a point. It is LBH's duty to us council tax payers to maximise revenue from their assets. What if Grays were to offer to double or triple the rent that AFC Tosspots currently pay for Hornchurch Stadium?

He who pays the piper calls the tune, whatever Hornchurch and their dwindling bunch of gloryhunters might think.

John Hornsby Posted 4 hours ago

Such a bitter post! So why don't RFC offer 'double or triple' the rent to LBH and see what happens? As someone who has had a foot in both camps I feel some of you live in a dream world. If you spent the energy you expend on castigating AFCH in furthering the Westlands project instead then a groundshare would not be necessary - or have you given up on Westlands? When talking of dwindling crowds glass houses and stones come to mind.

alan fenn Posted 2 hours ago

Come on John, your better than that.

To suggest that Phil's post was bitter, and considering some of the the moronic posts on the Hornchurch forum directed at us, it almost beggars belief, as your shabby little club barely merits a mention these days.

During the past few weeks I watched two matches at Bridge Avenue, partly in an attempt to build bridges, and partly to see what AFCH was all about. As well as the Hornchurch supporters I already know, I met some really nice people, and every one of them are ashamed and embarrassed at the antics of the small minority of your supporters that post on your forum.

Knowing what a decent man you really are, I can only assume your post was heavily influenced by huge quantities of alcohol and you will explain yourself tomorrow.

Cough cough 'bulls**t. How is it this man meets some people for the first time and they open up to him about how ashamed they are and yet we all know these people well and they never say a word?? Curious

Typical of the bloke to be honest.

Showing his true colours as per usual.

Only thing is,they are so bitter down at Romford I believe people like him and clocksider are actually a danger to our club (despite the pair of them living in Hornchurch & Upminster respectively)

It's obvious that they have their little moles who they chip away at in the council whereas we are nowhere near as petty as that.

I am actually a bit grateful to Mr Fence as it does focus the mind and keep us on our toes so to speak.

Here's a radical proposal Mr Fennce, as you have said previously that you are trying to build bridges and that some of our fans are ashamed of some of our antics on this forum, in the interest of everybodies better why don't restrict yourself to posts on the RFC forum?

That way any vitriole posted by another would not be responded.to and you can focus on developing Westlands..........once all the caravans and tents have been cleared after the Olympics

You really are becoming increasingly deluded Rob, during the Carshalton game I was on hasbeen hill for little more than ten minutes, and over the two games I watched I spoke to 7 or 8 people in all, asked everyone of them what name they use for the forum, and every single on of them gave the same negative response to this forum, as do most of the casual and ex Urchin supporters I know socially.

No moles are needed at the town hall as if i need any information on any subject, I like any other resident only have to ask to find out what I wish to know. As to your comment about me and clocksider being a danger to your club, ask yourself why we should wish Hornchurch any harm, because if AFCH go tits up I would imagine we would be unable to find the money to rent Bridge Avenue when the rent increases come into effect.

Thanks to the recent boundary changes I now live an idyllic existence in Romford.

You really must go to Specsavers Rob. I said that some people connected to AFCH are ashamed and embarrassed by the forum. I have never said its crap, and I generally find most of the posts quite amusing.

If what you say is true (I personally don't believe it as I know most of those who stand on the Hill and am pretty sure even if they may have voiced concerns over some comments I don't believe they used the word 'ashamed' but I will check with them) this total amount of people equates to about 2% of our crowd.......think we can live with that. You can please some of the people some of the time and all that :biglaugh:

Alan, why would a complete stranger tell you about their views on the forum, possibly leaving themselves open to criticism from others and they would also think it strange a complete stranger asking them about the forum.

Anyway, you tell me whats so bad about it??? The fact that we have discussions on here, the fact that every now and again romford is brought up and shot straight down, you really do like to make things up.

The only people who i know who get annoyed with bits on the forum are Dagger (because some of your fans came on here abusing him)

Colin mcbride i know doesn't like some stuff on here, especially when its negative about the team or club, but thats fine as he owns the bloody club & sid i know finds little things irritating like the choice language from time to time but to be honest its no different from any clubs forums,if it was that bad Alan, people would complain but it seems to me that unless you have spoken to any of the above you are talking bollox again

I do symphasise with Romford's position but surely it's not Hornchurch's fault that they are where they are?

I don't think any of the fans I know have spoken to me about being embarrassed about what's written on here and I think I now know quite a lot of the fans at Hornchurch and I also use the forum a lot.

If the council ultimately decides that a groundshare goes ahead, then I suppose there's not a lot we (hx) can do about it. But there's been so much hard work from Colin and Jimmy and all the staff and players at Hornchurch and the supporter's association (with Rob and Jordan and everyone else making a big effort) to push the club forward, try to sort out the debt and to build something here, I just think it will be a shame with the fixture congestion, and the pitch being damaged after all the effort being put into it and all the other drawbacks you are going to get for them and for anyone associated with the club. There would clearly be disagreements from the two clubs over the use of facilities as well, I've seen the difference of opinion of some of the fans from both clubs already posted on this forum (whether directly or excerpts taken from Romford's forum posted on here). I just don't think a groundshare would work.

Most people have computers these days and yet less than 10% of fans from both clubs use their forums, and most of the 90% of non users from both clubs that I speak to, give the same reasons.

Alan,do you ever just sit there and think about the crap that you spout???

Arsenal get 60'000 fans a game at the emirates, yet only a fraction of their fans post on their forum, regular posters probably total around 1'000

Margate & ricay average around 400 mark yet ricay have around 30 posters & Margate 50,we have around 40 regular posters, the simple fact is not everyone who follows us feel the need to come on here as well as many who post occasionally and some don't even know there's a forum. Please think before you spout rubbish, although I know that's probably hard for an ex union representative
