This is one of the reasons this cup is more hassle than it is worth.

For Leatherhead all the money from a 200ish crowd with a few Margate fans there would be better than half the money from a 100ish crowd. Not to mention the fact of having to rearrange our fixture, when are just getting to the time of year when games frequently get cancelled.

For us, should we beat Canvey on Saturday, it would have been a good chance to increase our win streak and build more confidence ahead of the difficult trip to Billericay.

Whilst on the subject (sort of) I found it strange that the Ryman League set full fixture lists the Tuesday after the first two FA Cup rounds and, as I recall, the Saturday of the 2nd Qualifying Round. Surely it was obvious that there would be replays and a good chunk of sides would have made it to the 2nd qualifying. I always thought these dates were left empty?

We can't play at home on Sunday's (although it probably could be arranged every now and then)

So many more people work on Sunday's nowadays including players who are still part time at this level.

Also fans like to go to games, most would probably not be able to go to all games if played at weekends, when are people supposed to see their children if they are working all week and playing/watching football all weekend

Yes gates are low on Tuesday's but clubs just have to accept it

Maybe they could cut the league and or county cups out and start the season 2 weeks earlier and finish a couple of weeks later??

I've never understood why the Ryman league start two weeks later than other leagues. Just look at the amount of cup games we play in the first three months. With the better weather at the start of the season you could play a couple of the league/county/league cup matches then. The attendances may even increase due to the warmer nights. It would get rid of a couple of those dire matches played in the wet and cold on a Tuesday night. Of course the other stupid rule is that county matches have priority over league matches.

The league season could start a couple of weeks earlier, pack in games when the weather is good. However, the argument against that is that you end up paying wages for more weeks. So a season-long contract is for 35 weeks rather than 33, as I think it is at the moment. However, there is no sense in playing matches on cold nights in mid-winter when nobody wants to go. Maybe people have gone soft but social habits have changed and football has to adapt.

It's hard enough now Eastside. Do you want to see your side disappear under the weight of the extra wages.
