I agree Barney. i think our front 3 are key to our success. The blend seems to be right and i dont think it would work if Liam was a similar player to Leon and Adam. They seem to play well off each other and understand each others games well. Having Liam in the side allows Leon and Adam to play off him as well as the midfield. If we can tighten up at the back, we know there's always goals in our forwards.

I thought the ref's decision was correct. The arm was definitely used to pull the attacker back and, probably, the reason the attacker fell after all he was in front of the defender and through on goal.

And the non foul is just outside the area but we won so just learn from it and move on.

Perhaps there should be 300 free kicks a game. Holding is now part of the modern game and is clearly foul play but often it is ignored by the officials. Looking at it again it is clearly outside the box so perhaps a penalty should not have been given but a free kick.

It was soft, however valid it may have been, the problem in giving soft decisions (and this one is as soft as they get) the referee then has an issue of giving every free kick/penalty where no advantage occurs in after play. Common sense is always the golden rule. Contact was minimal, probably outside the box and the player could have stayed on his feet but tried his luck and succeeded.

 

Saying all that, these decisions and rules are part of the reason why football is the number one sport in the world which excites us all and get's us talking.

 

Lets hope we get the better of the ref's decisions in today's key game v Gray's.
