Deserved win for Staines tonight, they didn't really create much second half but battered us first half. We were perhaps unlucky in the end but overall can have few complaints.

Gary James spat in my face tonight and for that reason I hope Staines get nothing from this season. Ref apparently missed it and then sent off Baxter for adopting an aggressive attitude. Think it was a bit harsh but he can't really moan as he was telling everyone (including the ref who thought it was fine) he was going to take a yellow for 'smashing the 14'.

I hear that the Staines manager ordered James to apologise but he decided against it. Let's hope karma doesn't take long to do its thing...

To be honest I didn't come and say sorry last night because I felt a little bit ashamed for what I did, I did come up too the club house to say sorry ad a quick look but I couldn't see ya, I've never done that before and too be fair if someone done it too me I would be fuming, I just saw red when u DELIBERATELY elbowed me in the neck but for spitting I'm sorry.

I think it's a little bit harsh u saying ''for that I like Staines too get nothing out of the season" for a stupid retaliation from me but if that's how u feel then perhaps u r a little bit gutted u went out last night....!!!

Anyway sorry again for what I did and don't worry I was punished for it.

We put in a great display last night. Was against a mix of fleets first team and reserves but a deserved win. Going up the slope first half game very even we hit post through baker and kept them at bay with Shelley only having some long range efforts to deal with. Fleet very composed and decent on the ball.

Second half as we were having our best spell we got caught on break to let in a soft goal. We hit back on 70 mins with a baker header.75 mins we went down to ten our cb two yellows. 88 min baker got the ball 30 yards out held off two players and drilled the ball low towards goal. Fleet keeper should have saved it but it bounced over his hands for 2 1. Held on for good win.

Away to cove or farnborough in q/f

Gary James - Takes a lot to apologise publicly so fair play to you. Now can you apologise for givng me the run around and scoring the winner!

I like Staines. The cockyness of a few years ago has gone and been replaced with a real eagerness to win. You all clearly hate to lose which is a must if you are going to get promoted. Good luck with the season.

I am honoured you would give me credit for being accurate enough to elbow you in the throat, whilst you were running fairly quickly at me. However, what you are saying is complete rubbish. If I had elbowed you in the throat with you running at me you would not have been able to bounce up, see red, and produce the sort of low life act which you did. All I did was defend myself by stick the right hand side of my substantial (as you had been so keen to point out on several occasions) torso and top half of my right arm into you to stick you on your [****!!****]. The only thing it could have possibly bruised is your ego.

Of course I am gutted we went out, no point in playing if I wasn't, but that has nothing to do with my view. I would much rather teams that have players which conduct themselves in a better fashion, with spitting being reserved for the lowest, are successful than those that do not.

I have been spat at this season but the culprite missed. He apologised also, claiming he saw red. Yes it is low and disgusting and uncalled for but he cant take it back or indeed do more than apologise. Unless he turns up at the league game with 20 chicken nuggets for Henry there wont be forgiveness I feel but like I said once you done something like that you cant turn back time.

Listen I ain't gonna argue with u on here u know it was at least 2 steps after u claimed the ball u done me, Ive apologised for something I regret doing massively, if u wanna hold a grudge that's fine, I'll give u my address and u can come and see me.

I've spoke to 2 people today that said they've had murders with u when they've play against Westfield maybe perhaps I ain't the only one with this ego problem!!!

I have no interest in going to see you, I am not entirely sure what that would achieve. Presumably you're not insinuating violence?

I am afraid I don't know what the second paragraph is meant to be proving. 2 of your friends have disliked me when we've played against each other, incredible!

Henry, Gary is not the violent type, what he done last night was disgusting and believe me he knows that. If that was me i would of cracked him.As soon as we went in the changing rooms he had his head in his hands and called himself a scumbag. Last night was totally out of character. Nathan and the club have fined Gary and warned him about future conduct. Like ishminster said fair play for publicly apologising gaze! Right then onto the game Lammas started very brightly and I think Westfield would agreevthat we could of been 5 up in the first half hour, hitting the post and bar 3 times and have several opportunities from corners and free kicks. We did go 1 up when I found Gary James who rolled the ball to Jamie o'connor who dispatched cooley. Westfield grabbed 1 back on halftime with a great strike from the number 9! Second half with the wind west field started well but didn't really create too many chances. Had a couple of shots but not goal threatening. Lammas didn't create much either when deano found me down the wing, for me too to drill across the box to find James on the middle of the box who netted to get his 24th of season in all competition. In a feisty game Baxter saw red for apparently being aggressive but I think the ref thought he was James after the incident happened. A good win for us and we now play Walton and hersham in the next round. I wish Westfield all the best and look forward to the return league game. Pitch and facilities were also superb. P.s jurgs why ain't you playing for mate?

First of all I can't agree with the public apology being a decent thing to do. A quiet word last night would have been far more sincere and better received but people will always have a difference of opinion and that's fair enough.

Secondly I 100% agree on your report, we were hammered to start with, as I've previously mentioned, and you could have been well ahead. The only think I'd say is we did have a golden chance at 1 all and our player had a slightly heavy touch and the keeper made a good save. The better team on the night progressed.

Jurgs hasn't been playing as I retained my place from last season, he then got injured, and, believe it or not after last night's juggling in the first half, I've been one of our more consistent performers this season! It is nice having some decent competition this season though, makes training more intense and keeps me on my toes!

If Gary is not violent then he and Baxter need to work on their people skills as the only banter they had for us was telling us they were going to take a yellow or a red to smash us and end our night. Seems violent.

I know some people see intimidation as part of the game but to be honest it is wasted on the likes of myself and Henry as we have been smashed time and again in the CCL, Ryman and Wessex for about the last 15 years. If you cant take a few knocks then you should play netball or something. They would have been better off moving onto something else. To be fair to Gary I think he tried fat on Henry and bald and old on me but to be honest we have heard them before as well.

On a positive note I thought it was a good game, two committed sides, both playing good football.... and no extra time ( my legs had gone).

I know gazza well and what he done was bang out of order, however Gary is a forward who enjoys his football and i can only imagine he must of been getting it in his ear or taking a few off the ball niggles to react this way. I got frustrated when i played against Westfield and i remember Guv having a little thing with Henry. Does not excuse what Gazza has done and when you play each other again in a month hopefully gary will apologize to you in person Henry and buy you a beer. After all every one on this forum bar 1 or 2 are nice fella's and sometimes the red mist makes us do silly things!

Alright Redders. As Henry said I've only just come back from injury (broken finger at the start of the season) so been playing with the reserves to get match fit again and had a run out for the firsts a few weeks back in the Southern Combination. Won all games I've been involved with (5 in total), so will be looking to challenge Henry for the shirt.

As he has said though he has been one of most consistent performers this season so it will be hard, but that's what it should be like and if I get a chance I'll take it!

Lammas deserved the win overall on the night so good luck in the next round and hopefully will see you at the league game.

Had to laugh when I was told to "[censored] off you German" whilst arguing with Wharfy after the spitting incident.....alas it is only a nickname and I'm not actually German haha!
