Rhodes has just been in touch. He tells me he has plenty of fans and admirers on this forum, and it is the usual suspects (Horace, RefonRef and Winslow Boy) who have it in for him because he sticks to the facts and regularly out banters you. At this point I prefer to stay neutral and allow you boys to fight your own battles, so may the best man/men win.

Yay! Praise indeed - I've made the first team!

Thing is Smellynuts, over the 4 or 5 years I've been using/reading this forum this type of thread is a regular occurrence and we get the odd human being arrives here wondering how it is possible that one person can attract so much despite, revilement and disgust. Don't worry, we've all been there, almost wishing and hoping that Rhodes would change his ways because he occasionally tries to be informative although sometimes inaccurate but he does put a bit of work into his fixtures and results services. The other side of the Jekyll and Hyde coin though is that he likes to post any slander that comes into his head which he refuses to back up with evidence and will just ignore his targets when he's made yet another fool of himself, he doesn't care if he damages reputations within clubs or leagues. He just starts up again on another thread, another topic or angle. It's just one of those things that if he was being honest with you instead of pm'ing you a sob story about how many fans he has on here etc, he actually loves the attention of any sort, it's what he lives for.

Stick around, you'll be on his list sooner or later and no matter how much you try to debate rationally with him you'll get to the point of realising that a he is as useful as pus running down a sewer.

It takes all sort to make a forum interesting, and your good self, Rhodes, Eastside Urchin, and a few others are the posters I always look for first, because I know I will be entertained. We don't have to agree, or even like each other but all the unpleasantness directed at one individual must turn some interesting people away from this forum.

If I ever have the privilege to meet Rhodes I'm sure I would like him, and the same applies to most of the regulars on this forum.

Well I'd agree with a lot of what you say Alan, yourself, EU and Cliffy are hugely knowledgeable and can be very helpful, I'd say extremely helpful but the first inkling I had that things weren't all quite full on the money with Rhodes is that he displays an ignorance in asking at times rude, irrelevant, sometimes personal questions of other users, that if he in turn after receiving an honest answer is asked a searching question in return will ignore that question and instead, not believing the answer he has received will start making assumptions about what he would have liked you to have said in your answer. Now that's not how a forum is supposed to work, it's not the actions of someone who wants to contribute to the forum, it's knowledge or experience. It's not an exchange of opinions either, it's one way traffic. Instead it goads a dislike, he pursues a vendetta based on the untruths of his assumptions and promotes those at any given opportunity. Now to my mind and a few others it seems he brings this attention upon himself and he does nothing to improve the situation leaving anyone with the feeling that he needs that attention, he needs the dirty little battle in his life and that is quite sad.

Posters are left with little option but to put the story straight and in their frustration or their humour return his ire and the forum becomes almost unusable and a disrepute to the SSML and to Non League UK.

Good luck when you meet him, I'm told he is personable and erudite, personally my one opportunity found him on an off day, limp wristed and dull.

Im beginning to think that Smellynuts isn't as thick as he makes out....maybe he and Rhodes met in Rhodes favourite hanging out joint, not for me to prove they are guilty but can they really prove their innocence????

Smellynuts will soon be answering to the name George Michael if Rhodes has his way

Reserves/No 4, "Smellynuts" is actually the punchline of one of my favourate jokes, namely, What do you call a dog with no tongue?, but I can confirm I am thick/dumb/stupid/mad & thick skinned, all the traits you need in order to survive in footy management!

As for George Michael, don't knock it till youve tried it mate, and it beats hanging around with Gary Glitter!

PS: Some good banter by the way but Rhodes was right on one thing, it is easy to get a nibble out there. Are you lot sure he is not just playing you?!

Loosely – Firstly, members are not left with little option but to respond to my posts, I’m not forcing their arms up their backs am I. Secondly I cannot for the life of me recollect that one occasion, supposedly at Hornchurch FC, I am told we met each other which rather says it all doesn’t it, did we shake hands as I like to think I have quite a firm handshake.

Whiffynads, Of course he is playing a game, but it's the lengths he goes to, to get on people's tits that's the problem. The Lee Scott/Gary Speed case is a prime example of that. Would you really condone what was written ?

To be fair I havnt read the comments, although if you accept he feeds off of winding people up with prevocative blogs, is it not then best to ignore him....maybe he will go and annoy those on the Ryman forum for example?

You like to think a lot of things. Unfortunately, as is usually the case, you are wrong.
