You know as i've already spoken to you and have all ready congratulated you I gave you some advice and I hope you listened to what I said, from now on you are on the managerial roller coaster its time to ditch the all pals together routine and do a job for Chertsey, from now on more than ever you will be judged by results and results only, you have to do the job with your eyes wide open and without favour, remember what i always tell the players I'm not here to be your friend and I don't care if you think i'm a kent talk is cheap show me what you can do on the pitch thats where it counts.

Chertsey Town FC Club Statement

Following the departure of Spencer Day, Chertsey Town is pleased to announce that David Johnston will now be the club’s team manager. David joined Chertsey Town in the close season as a player and quickly established himself as the side’s captain.

He is 34 years of age and this will be his first appointment in that role. He will continue as a player for the time being. David formally played football for Ash United, Farnborough Town and Cove.

Ian Selley is a player on loan from Kingstonian FC but will be involved with coaching and assisting. Chertsey Town appreciate that Ian has contractual obligations with his loaning club and would not wish to corrupt that arrangement. He will continue to play for Chertsey Town whilst the arrangement exists, helping out wherever he able.

Within these new circumstances, the club is confident stability and consolidation will be established and that the side’s mid table position in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central will be underpinned.
