I bet he took the train past Cheshunt to Hertford East. Then took a short walk across town to take the train from Hertford North to Stevenage. From there, caught another train to Potters Bar and finally the 242 Bus to Theobalds Lane after a short walk.

We have 4 pages on best ssml programmes of which less than half a dozen answers actually the question.
