What are forums for??

Recommended Posts

There is a post by webbo on the other forum which has annoyed the fk out of me.

It seems that we're not allowed to feel disillusioned by our club, despite this being our worst start in years, despite the fact that everyone I've spoken to thinks it's time for a managerial change, and despite the fact that five years ago we were making a serious challenge for Conference football and appeared to be going places and now.. we'll, we're not, are we??

What is the football forum for? The way I understood it, it is to express opinion on your team/club. I am disillusioned by the rubbish I'm having to watch week in, week out. On any club forum in the Football League, you'd be able to criticise the club, so what is it with this touchy-feely attitude in non-league football that dictates that you can't have a go if you feel the club is doing badly?

I have so much more to say on this subject but simply can't be arsed at the moment cos I'm severely pissed off.

What I find hard to comprehend is that, instead of going, "Blimey, Zeal's a loyal fan of St Albans City, and for two seasons running went to every game home and away - what could have prompted this apathy from him", I'm simply told to "shut the door on your way out". Very much the attitude of this club at the moment.

Once again, it's head-in-the-sand and sweeping problems under the carpet. Rather than getting to the root of the problems.

I'm not the only one either.

The likes of Pete and Alan used to go to every game home and away, even in our darkest hours, and now they are not particularly interested one way or another.

It should concern the club that even the loyalist of supporters now are losing interest in their droves.

I fear for the club. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

So CZ. You're disillusioned by the rubbish that you're having to watch. [And you weren't there on Saturday!] Leave Webbo's put down response out of it.

The crowds are down by 40/50% or whatever. We are out of the F.A. Cup.

That's a summary of the current position. What is/are the solution?

AFF. Me, you, Laz etc. have discussed the possible solutions on many, many an occasion. It gets us nowhere really.

Thornsy. I don't intend my current absence from the football to be terminal. I'm having a break. I'll be doing the all-day sesh for Grays away later this month. You joining us??

Thornsy - you're absolutely right. We didn't stop going en-mass during previous bad spells. This season, it's starting to happen. The problem isn't with us - it's with the club. But to be honest, us lot not going will seem more like 'problem solved' to the hierarchy than anything else.
