Enfield Town vs Soham Town Rangers

Yes, well done The Town. That is an excellent result and a fine turnout today. Well done everyone!

There is a long way to go, and the league is wide open this season, but this win is a great confidence booster (if we needed one) before our next two home league matches this coming week.

Bet there was a great atmosphere this afternoon, and I'm really looking forward to coming up and giving the lads a shout next Tuesday and Saturday.

'UP THE TOWN'

My first game at the QEII - missed the Tottenham game due to being overseas.

I just want to say how much those in the club who have made this stadium possible deserve the congratulations of all supporters and all people in Enfield.

I am sure the stadium still needs a bit of tweaking here and there but from what I saw it looked really great and an excellent crowd to boot in quite cold conditions. The old art deco cafe looks great and warm and welcoming.

Grays at home next Saturday could see an even better crowd.

Well done to all.

Best league crowd at the stadium and we are still in November!

Undefeated in the league at the QE stadium this season.

Not conceded a league goal at the stadium and it's still November.

Cracking game today and the defence did well to keep the lively Soham forwards at bay.

Good to see so many supporters come to the game who I have not seen for a while.

Here's looking forward to the next two home games

The crowd was the top one for Step 4 today. Needham v Grays were next best at 355!! Good to see.. Maybe we could top 500 against Grays who are bound to bring a good following???

Great performance all round. Thought Kirby and Kendall were really good at the back. Liam also had a good game setting up the penalty decision as well as his two goals

Match highlights are here. I filmed from the main stand in the first half and the far side in the second half. Can't decide which is best??

My first visit to the QE Stadium and very impressed with it. It is nice to see stands behind both goals and along both sides and a very tidy perimeter fencing around the pitch. I would just like to echo many other supporters in thanking all those who have given up so much of their time to give us and our club a home of our own and one we can all be proud of. I do however have 2 little questions and would be interested to hear other views/answers.

  • Does anyone know why the lights on the floodlights face down as oppose to out across the pitch?
  • I noticed by the seated stand on the far side we had a number of advertising banners on a fence behind the spectators. Would these not look better tied around the perimeter fence as is normally the case with many grounds?

A very healthy crowd of 420 for the 1st 'home' league game on a Saturday and with a bit of a chill in the air was very promising especially when you see the top 2 teams battle it out in front of less. It would be terrific achievement if we can average between 4-500 for the remainder of the season and I like Mr ColdEnd expect 500+ next Saturday in what will be a very tough game but in front of a very large and vocal Town support.

IMO Baz I prefer the filming from the far side stand as you are closer to the action and at a better level.

The banners are obviously ok length wise but height wise they are too big for the perimeter fence. Hopefully all new sponsors will have banners we can actually fit on the perimeter fence.
