Was at Bedfont Towns 4 2 win last night and Bedfont deserved the win but i also thought Cockfosters played well at times during the game. I spotted two out of work managers at the game last night they were Neil Shipperley and Gary Haylock i wonder if they are after the Bedfont Town managers job?.

Two wins on the trot now for Bedfont Town i hope they can push up the league table.

Ships is a possibility with his previous links. Cant see Gary Haylock being one. I believe he is being paid of by Farnborough on a monthly basis. So if he excepts a job he will forfeit any money from Farnborough FC. Personall having known JB for a long time i would like to see him get a crack at the job. I am sure he would do well.

A good spot Sav Bee, Garry was finally released by Farnborough yesterday and has since been installed as Bedfont Town manager with JB accepting a role in his team.

I know non-CCL but an interesting appointment for a former member club and one which could take the club to another level...

Whatever happened to the plans BT had for moving to Feltham lakes or wherever it was?

I take it that's now a dead duck?

That's not a criticism btw - there's nothing wrong with having plans and ambitions but, as is so often the case in the south east, local councils and NIMBYs get in the way of progress.

I was looking at Eversley's application for floodlights and the latest I can see on the council's website is that the plans have been withdrawn due to the council basically saying they would refuse the application.

How can clubs in this area get the locals and councils to see the benefits of providing decent facilities for our football teams?

Last I heard they had discovered more gravel to excavate for aggregates which has delayed the process for another few years. The Chairman has plans on another couple of sites but it's all about politics, and lots of patience. There is lots of scope to re-develop The Orchard but more politics there...

That information isn't quite correct VP. We withdrew the application as we've obtained more land at Fox Lane and wanted to include some additional stipulations. Things like moving the lights and main pitch to a new location within the ground when the land is fit for purpose (expected 2014). Also stating the lights will be telescopic.

The above satisfied the neighbour/council concerns. Mainly being the long term strategy of the ESA.

The application is expected to be approved early Feb. FF are aware and stated funding should then be approved in March, leaving 3-4 weeks to install the lights, hard standing etc.

Obviously depending on league position around the end of Feb,we might push the installation back to May time.

The ESA have always faced objections with regards to building the sports ground, indoor cricket nets, clubhouse extension etc. However the parish council and Hart are very supportive and are all working together to provide facilities for the area to enjoy.

Please let me know if you have any further questions/need additional info etc.

Helps to get around the issue of the lights looking at eyesore when they are not being used

I saw on the council website that the application may be approved if the club didn't have permanent floodlights.

I hope you get the application through but it's frustrating when you read comments that floodlight pylons aren't proper to the countryside. Why can't Woking Borough Council expand and take over our councils? They seem to have their heads screwed on. I was looking at Knaphill's floodlights application with great interest while it was in the planning stage and thought it was great how the council dismissed some resident's objections as 'not a valid planning issue'. Funny how they say floodlight pylons can be erected in a country park but other councils don't.
