Bedfont Town FC

I saw 2 of Bedfont Towns pre-season games and they looked very good in both games and ive been back to watch them 3 times this season and they have lost all 3 games which surprised me after what i saw from them during pre-season also each time i go to watch them 1 or more of last seasons squad has returned to the club. For me Lee Scott and Matt O'Brien are key players for them. I hope Bedfont Town stay up!

Thanks Savagebee, much appreciated.

Foxy - Not all about budgets mate, look at the likes of Chalfont, Northwood, AFC Hayes etc. We've been inundated with applicants for the job, too many in fact, and we've not advertised it which is flattering.

WAS told today there are money issues at town. few of the folk at sports seemed aware.

They have loaned a couple of Farnborough players,Byron Bubb,Moses Spencer.

Not quite Smudge, Byron came in without a club and Moses joined on loan but after 45 mins against North Greenford last week (and 3 goals down, 2 arguably down to him) he was clearly not fit enough and has gone back as far as I know.

Good luck Jon-Barrie...always got stick down at AFCW, in the same way Sanchez did when at WFC...underrated midfielder that did a lot of work that went unnoticed.

JB is my all time favourite Bedfont Town player, 100% every match and is one of few players to ever pull on the shirt that can run a match at whatever pace suits him, total legend.

If you ask any of the 'old school' about JB they all have stories to tell from how he was held back from a £50k move to pro-football with Palace or Millwall to him playing up top for Southall under Stevie Hawkins. He's a totally genuine person who have very little to say off the pitch, in fact never heard him say a bad word about anybody.

I'm hoping the Chairman gives him the job but we'll see...

All depends I guess, at 39 JB really is in his twilight years......will be interesting as you say NG.

Exactly GP. Out of politeness, I wasn't going to mention JB age but now you've mentioned it, I think doing both maybe a concern, its really upto JB if he feels he can do both 'cos being a manager alone is almost a 24/7 job ! Anyway we will see.......

I would like to see jb as assitant with a very experienced manager until end of the season , then jb can learn a bit more managerially and continue playing and take it on full time next season , with that little bit more experience and as you say Ng if he can committ the time to the job , and of course with the same keeper coach/groundsman ;)

Agree with you both!

Glad to see his son JJ Jnr. get a crack at Dagenham & Redbridge. Played with him for a season at Feltham when he was there. Typical teenager attitude but could turn games on their heads at that age of 16/17. Hope it is and does work out for him!!
