Slough v Ashford Town (Middlesex not Kent)

Yet again 3 points and we were in total control for 75 minutes then very nearly hit the self destruct button but we won and we're top again so who cares!

Not sure about MoM, maybe Perkins (what a goal!)... Think Burgess will be a very good addition once he settles, reminded me of Dom Marsala but he has more strength and bite!

Today was like the last 2 seasons but these games will happen, we are the team to beat and every team we face raises their game! From a potentially season altering months, 4 wins and 2 draws in the league, well done boys!

What on earth happened today?!! I was there........I'm just not sure what happened! 4-1 up with 10 minutes to play despite not having played well and a healthy contribution to our goal difference. Then we hit the self destruct button and concede 2 goals and possibly should have conceded more had the Ashford player not contrived to miss an open goal with James out of position.

We really missed Paul Coyne today - somebody to put their foot on the ball in the middle, slow things down and retain possession. That said I was massively impressed with Ollie Burgess who looks a very intelligent player, keeping it simple and always picking the right pass.

Despite the comedy defending there were big positives out of today - Ollie Burgess, 3 points, bad results for other teams and a fantastic thunderbolt from Steve Perkins to rival Coyne for goal of the season. I hope Nathan got that on film!

always going to be tough with Sonner, Coyne, Swift and Murphy not starting but it seemed easy when it was 2-0 and then 4-1 later on. we got the win but we gotta make sure we shut out games better and dont just give soft goals away that can revitalise the opposition. so far we have got away with it when comfortably 2 or more goals ahead but we wont always get so lucky. at least 3 games this season at home we have had opponents miss open goals when they are close to getting back in the game

great goal from Burnell who held the ball up superbly today i thought holding off the defenders

Ashford were let down by their defending 2nd goal was too easy as was the 4th though Herron finished emphatically from what was still a tough angle

Perkins goal was as good as you will see. simply no chance for the keeper wonderful hit

taking the foot of the gas at 4-1 nearly cost us and we must keep the effort going the full 90 but also would say fair play to Ashford who pressured us and were unlucky not to get back to 4-4 in the end

hate to tempt fate but again it was the sort of game that title winning sides edge. last season we would have potentially lost that was certainly the sort of defending we saw the last few years

definitely agree Burgess looked good and definitely a classy attacking player who has a bit of pace and strength about him

anyone know if Byrne is definitely retiring i heard rumours he is? also allegedly Abbey was possibly giving up but changed his mind?

The important thing today is we got the three points.

I thought burgess did well and will grow as he beds into te team.

I thought we missed Paul coyne a lot today and it showed our defence up last 15 without coyne clearing up in front of them

I also thought we missed sonner today. Abbey and Brunell are top quality players but are too similar IMO to play together. We need sonner and one of them.

Also we seem to be the only consistent team at the top an if we carry on that way we will find ourselves pulling away from the rest which is good

COYR!
