Good news if you use Dartford crossing

The government is delaying the planned price increase until after April 2012

 

Should be free anyway - or use the same toll system that is used in the continent / usa so that traffic is not held up.

Agree it should be free by now but unfortunately following their brothers behaviours on the Mersey Tunnel the Kent Chapter of Road Muggers had performed so many fiddles over the years the current toll is barely keeping pace with costs of taking the toll fee!

 

Don't be so impressed with the continent either, French and Italian motorways are all Toll charges with the same ridiculous booths which cause even longer queues whilst countries like Switzerland and Austria do have a vignette system where you buy a sticky voucher that goes in your window and is read by scanners they can still have additional tolls and booths at major tunnels that cause tailbacks up to 30 miles e.g.. The Bolzano Tunnel.
