Ref- Ramsgate forum post.

Hello mummybunny sorry if my message upset you and I would like to be the first on your forum to congratulate Margate youth on there highly commended award at last nights Thanets sports awards. Its over 24 hours since the award and I was wandering why not one margate fan has congratulated the youth section! Could it be that there not interested? Funny though as they are when it could help with there planning issues. I notice at the awards last night that kinnear wasn't there to give the youth section a bit of support (probably not interested either)

Your right that rams youth didn't get any awards but did you notice One of our backroom staff get a unsung Hero award? I notice JIm Ward was there along with one of our players to give there support! Still they live local. I was there as my son plays rugby for Thanet wanderers who received the highly commended award for youth team of the year.

To get back to my post I would like to quote you on what it says in lasts nights programme, it says Margate youth currently runs teams from U5 to U18 (what it should then say is ' leave as the first team won't want you') it goes on to say it fully endorses the FA's respect campaign.

What I said on the rams forum was 'is it really right to allow a whole team of 10 year olds bang the perimeter fencing while singing send him off send him off' ? Surely you shouldn't allow this because it looked and sounded awful! As I said before my son plays rugby for Thanet wanderers and you don't get none of this.

Before you say I'm just knocking MFC because we lost is not true as I said to pagey on the night you was stronger and have the more experienced side, but then you are a league higher paying wages averaging £200 a player compered with our £80 (guessing) you was also at home.

Rant over! All the best mummybunny.

As this is the first I've heard about the awards can I say congratulations to margate youth and the backroom person from Ramsgate on their awards! Great news for Thanet football.

As for kids singing "send him off!", well as a footbal fan I've probably done it myself on one or two occasions and long may it continue despite various attempts to sanitise the game to the point of no atmosphere. OK, Gregs is a top bloke and I'm sure had no ill intent in the tackle but I'm sure he'll admit it wasn't the best. It was a football match, local bragging rights were at stake, things were said and done by both sides during the passion of the match (believe me I heard some fairly unsavoury comments from a group of Ramsgate supporters down the coffin end second half about Margate supporters parentage). Now it's over and we move on to the next game.

As regards kids behaviour - how about some of the adults starting to behave a bit more like adults? Good luck to Ramsgate for the rest of the season I hope they win promotion (and we avoid relegation) so we can enjoy a couple of passionate encounters next season!

Ten-year-olds banging on a fence - gosh, it's like the 80s all over again. This from a fan of a club who became well known around the league for off-field violence against visiting fans (AFC Wimbledon most notably) though I think the boys from Wealdstone put you in your place and it's been quieter ever since.

My darling Ramsgatebuilder......

I didnt realise you were such a fragile and sensitive soul that a small number of 10 year old boys and girl banging on a board would upset you so! On behalf of the youth section may I convey our sincere apologies for any long lasting damage they may have caused to you. Im lucky that my 13yr old must be thicker skinned than you as he wasnt at all bothered by your goalkeeper swearing away at the crowd behind the goal in the second half!

Many congratulations to your first team staff member for his highly commended award in the unsung hero catagory,,,, and to Mr Ward for coming along to support him...... mind you; there was a free buffet!! And also to one of your players for supporting him too...... what a coincence that James Gregory was there in a working capacity too as a member of the Sports Matters team!!

Did you notice that our Youth Section Chairman was also very honoured to receive a highly commended award in the Long Service Catagory; I did like the fact that 2 representives from each youth team and also the whole committee plus managers and various parents were there to support him and also the youth section's award; oh... and the directors and managers of the first team had already passed their congratulations on, which was nice of them.

Congratulations to your son too for the Thanet Wanderer's award; does he not play football? Pity, as I am sure that Ramsgate's youth section would benefit from having him. Im lucky as my son plays for Margate Youth, and has had trials for Charlton Athletic, and is only 10.

Im sure that Ramsgate Reserves and first team is forever grateful to Margate Youth's coaching as they are benefitting from it through several members of the squads having come up through our ranks.

Im grateful for your concern that our fantastic acheivement has not been mentioned through the first team's forum but Im happy to reassure you that the children will receive all the plaudits that they deserve when Margate FC hosts the fun day on 3rd December, when our FA Charter Standard Community Club award (the only one in Thanet) is awarded by the KCFA along with local press and dignatories.

All the best Ramsgate Builder xx

Of course sorry you all wouldn't know about the award as it's not even mentioned on the Margate website!

Your son must be a decent player mummybunny I look forward to seeing him in a red rams shirt in 5 years time! My son used to play football but going to a rugby playing school it seemed natural to go over to rugby. He loves it and I don't know why but there is certainly a lot more respect among rugby clubs.

All the best,

Is that FA Charter not including the one the Ramsgate Youth sectioned got in 2008? Click you on website and a rather nice pic off it being awarded.

Coffin ender ,

Remind me who caused a punch up in our clubhouse when asked to remove glasses off our pool tables? Answer- Margate youth team COACHES!

Ref- spitting at ball boys yes that player played for Ramsgate and margate!

Here's an impartial view of your club:

Them: Timewasted about 25 minutes before the end, up to our goal for some strange reason. Their manager and coaching staff were, cough, "over-excited" and their players had a nice little way of intimidating the ref. Miserable ground, miserable atmosphere, Somme-esque pitch. Vastly over-priced refreshments. [censored] floodlights. Fans charmingly singing "you'll get a boot wrapped around your head" at us, from behind the safety of a few stewards naturelment. And it's in Kent. All this made DG's goal even sweeter.

To be fair, they did have the security situation under control this time, and as far as I know nothing untowards happened afterwards. And had they done this a year ago they would have had far more of us there. Still, their loss.

EDIT: The crossed out stuff was the original text written on Saturday night. Since I wrote that I found out that one of our photographers was hit in the back by a guy from the home end running 20 yards into the directors box, with the stewards apparently doing/caring [****!!****] all about it. I kept it in to show that I was prepared to give the benefit of the doubt. Quite simply now, I can't be arsed.

I put the newspaper link up above deliberately, and here's why. I'm fed up of Ramsgutter pleading innocence, of "poor old us". I'm fed up of their chairman claiming that people are blackening his club's name. The fact our snapper was unhurt is irrelevant - it was a massive breach of security and directly affected a professional doing his job. We all know what the fallout would be if it was at KM, with an AFCW fan doing the same to the Ramsgutter club photographer.

If the Gutter chairman wants to know why people are having a go at his club, it's because of the incidents at our game last season. It's because of what allegedly happened at Margate. It's potentially serious incidents like yesterday. There is a good reason why Gutter are being victimised. It's because they're [****!!****].

"But we put in CCTV yesterday and got police in" they will doubtlessly claim. Great. So why did Ramsgate police [****!!****] off half-way during the first half? Does keeping them for 90 minutes cost more? Why was there a more noticable feel of aggression in the second half after they'd gone? Left in the hands of stewards who would probably join in the fighting given half the chance? That's the impression they give me, certainly.

And what of these troublemakers, the Ramsgate ICF (Inbred [****!!****] Farmers)? Don't tell me - they're a tiny minority, they're not real Ramsgate fans. [censored]. They seem to get about 3-400 regularly, though 200s aren't unusual. And how many of their toxic waste by-products are there? 25? 50? That's not a "tiny minority". Yeah, yeah, I know they're probably hangers on, and they only turn up for the big games. But guilt by association, as it does with every other club with an "element". And again, I bet that their money is quite welcomed. Ooooh, wait, I'm blackening Ramsgutter's name. [****!!****] off.

[****!!****] Ramsgutter. [****!!****] their excuses. [****!!****] their ground. [****!!****] their stewards. [****!!****] their on-the-cheap attitude. [****!!****] their chairman who goes on about banning people, pleading for leniency and then not allegedly bothering to answer emails from AFCW fans last season. Not your fault, Ramsgate? Course it [censored] is. The fact that it was OUR local police contingent that had to chase after the alleged assaulter yesterday says it all. Did the Ramsgutter stewards help? By the sound of it, they were probably laughing their heads off.

And I suppose they'll blame us. They probably think we should just shut up and take it. Yeah, you're right. We're their milk cow, a punchbag for their own inadequacies. Did you know many of them think we're gloryhunters? Ah, I really feel fake for not supporting a tinpot club with tinpot ambitions, who like to be pure and real. Until we come along of course, then they drop their knickers and screw us for our money. I can't wait until we finally get out of this league and leave [censored] like Ramsgutter behind. Ooooh, I'm being a gloryhunter again. [censored] stains.

As for their hoolies, I think they need to do something more useful with their time. Develop new skills, like learning how to dress unaided, or how to wipe themselves after a [censored]. Or learn something they've never know before, like who their real fathers are.

The league ought to stop pussyfooting around with Ramsgutter and tell them this - any more trouble and that's it : ground closure and points deduction. If the club won't sort themselves out, the league should do it for them. And if they don't like it, tough [censored]. Quit their club, sell the ground off for housing as far as I care. I'm certain there'll be plenty of us willing to help lay the first brick....

(and for the record, I am now in two minds whether I want to go back there again. Chances are I will, but that's only because I think it will punish our side. Cutting your nose, and all that. But if I was prepared to accept that promotion may not happen this season, I would kill for it now)
