Maidenhead United FA Trophy match on Saturday

Recommended Posts

Welcoming you to York Road on Saturday for our F. A. Trophy match. The York Road ground is only 3 minutes walk from the railway station. You'll find it a rustic and quaint ground in the town centre (you don't get many like this anymore !! ). For any historians among you it's the oldest football ground in the world that has been in continuous use by a senior team. The first match was played there 140 years ago in 1871 and there's a blue heritage sign on the turnstiles showing that the club purchased the freehold of the ground in 1920 for £1,450.

If you want a drink before or after the game then there is a warm welcome in the "Stripes" clubhouse in the ground which has a wealth of old photos about the club and its former players.

For those of you driving to the game on Saturday please note the Grove Road Car Park (opposite the York Road ground entrance) is a maximum stay of two hours and costs £1.60. Nicholsons (which you access from the Broadway) is £2 for up to four hours and has 734 spaces, the Town Hall car park – which is one minutes walk away and has 111 spaces - is £2.40 for 2 - 3 hours. You can take your chances with the limited street parking nearby but the Parking Enforcement Team are red-hot on any indiscretions and there are also some parking permit only restrictions in place.

Looking forward to seeing on Saturday !

Can you still park in the Maidenhead Advertiser carpark?

4 grand up for grabs and just 90 minutes from a potential clash with Luton, Grimsby, Wrexham etc, should make it a good 'un, but despite our success and efforts on the pitch this season don't expect many of us. It aint like it used to be!
