Harefield United v Hertford Town

(HERTFORD TOWN)

Elf, Cooper, Barker, Samuel, Sonuga, Hewitt, Hadi, Blackett, Draper, Bangura, Roberts.

(Subs): Healy, Wells, McArdle, Maybury, Packer.

Three minutes gone in blustery conditions and not looking good for Alan Barker. Gone down twice already and has had to be helped off pitch.

Expected sub for Hertford on 5 mins. Jamie Packer on for Barker. Hope he's ok.

Best chance for the Blues so far. Hewitt picks up a loose clearance, advances and shoots just over.

Chance on 22 mins. Roberts corner causes problems. Draper heads ball goalwards but cleared off the line.

GOAL. Harefield 0 Hertford 1. 27 mins. Long clearance by Elf, brought down smartly by Hadi, feeds Draper who turns defender and rifles home.

GOAL. Harefield 0 Hertford 2. 34 mins. Draper beats defender and thru on goal, keeper beats him to it but goes straight to Hewitt who scores.

Bugger got scorer wrong! A single tweet does not do justice to the finish by Blackett, he rifled home from 20 yards.

Chance on 43 mins. Roberts does well down the left. Strong in a challenge then crosses to Bangura but he skews his shot wide.

Goal '27: AFC Dunstable 1-0 Dunstable Town. Craig Butler. The wind is killing this game.

Totternhoe 0 Tring Corinthians 0 - 30 mins gone & nothing to report except a power cut.

Two great chances missed by Totternhoe. Still no goals still no power and a cold wind.

Half Time. Royston Town 0 Colney Heath 0.

Two quick goals from sub Aiden Murray makes it Totternhoe 2-0 Corries. Probably a fair reflection. Not long left now.

Tring brought on Rob Duncan for Kerry Gordon at half time.

GOAL 52': LEV 1 Tri 0. Bekim Culaj crosses for Junior to score his first goal for the club!

A much better start to this half - Junior had already set Culaj up for two chances before the goal.

62': Levy sub Paul Insley for Lewis Pritchard. Within a minute of coming on Insley played a one-two with Culaj but his shot was saved.

69': Tring bring on Vinnie Iannone for Andy Humphries.

71': Levy bring on Adam Hallissey for Ricco Biggi.

76': Levy bring on Joel Norris for Vranceanu.

GOAL 76': LEV 2 Tri 0. With his first touch Norris nods the ball through to Junior, who goes through to score!

Unfortunately Junior got injured while scoring, and with all three subs already used, we are down to ten men.

83': Tring bring on Che To for Matt Prestridge.

GOAL 90': Lev 2 TRI 1. Matt Jarvis put through to score. We are hanging on now and a lot of injury time to play.

FT: Leverstock Green 2 Tring Athletic 1. Att: 80. Well-deserved from an excellent second half display!

Meanwhile back at Creasey Park

Double sub on '56: Dean Brennan and Nathan Frater replace Leon Fisher and Marty Judge.

Sub '75: George Brinkman on for Steve Dogbe.

Embarrassing. The only word I can think of Dunstable Town

Full time: Dunstable Town 0-1 AFC. How can an entire team look uninterested for a local derby?

Royston Town 2 Colney Heath 0. Matt Standen strikes it in after Ryan Lockett's shot rebounds off the post.

GOAL. Harefield 0 Hertford 3. 64 mins. Draper latches onto a ball over the top. Shows great speed, first attempt blocked, rolls in rebound.

First sub for the Blues on 69 mins. Blackett seems to be limping, replaced by McArdle.

Into the last ten minutes and Hertford continue to dominate. Please forgive me for a lack of updates, my hands are cold!!

Second sub for Hertford on 81 mins. Bangura replaced by Billy Healy for his debut.

My memory is getting worse. We of course made a sub in the first five minutes so we have used all 3 now.

Final score. Harefield 0 Hertford 3. Best performance of the season. Come on the Blues.

Chesham 2 Ampthill 4

Steve Tucker did the business then, I wonder if Ampthill would have still won today had Craig Bicknell been in control

0-4 Hanwell Town v Broxbourne Borough V&E

We played rubbish today from start to finish and deserved to lose by a lot more goals than we did. Considering we are 2nd from bottom i would have thought the players would have been up for this game but Broxbourne wanted it much more and they were by far the better team there number 7, 9 and 18 ripped our defence apart in the firsthalf we only started to put some tackles in when we were 0 3 down. The management and players have to have a good hard look at themselves and changes need to be made or we will get relegated at the end of the season :(

Saturday 26th November

DIVISION ONE

1-1 Langford v Cockfosters

A report on this one from another's Forum:

Spartan South Midlands League Division 1

Langford 1 Cockfosters 1

In: £5 including free 28 page prog (lots of ads but perfectly acceptable) Including the prog with entry is a much better deal for your advertisers, clubs!

Tea: 70p, Burger £2

Crowd: My headcount was 45 + 10 kids who I found at half time having a kick about at the clubhouse end - they kept going all 2nd half!

In Hitchin today for a meeting - probably my last, as I left a resignation letter on my way out! Shame really, as I've enjoyed my little trips round this area's clubs. Thought about the Dunstable derby today, but only escaped from the meeting at 2.30 due to time limit on car park, so Langford was a better bet. Arrived with 10 minutes to spare, huge car park, nice clubhouse with bar, teabar and BBC on TV, 2 Arena type stands (one seated, one standing) with views slightly restricted due to dugouts, and one row of hard standing all round the breeze block pitchside wall. Nice friendly club, a very pleasant setting and an enjoyable afternoon. That's 10 new grounds this season, a week later than last year.

I had seen Cockfosters before, a little over a year ago when they lost 8-1 at home. Looking at the table, they have obviously moved forward a lot this season, and today they displayed some very exciting forwards - but with the defence on show today, I am very surprised there are only 3 defeats on their league record this season.

Langford had a terrible time in the Premier last season, and maybe this is their level, as they have experienced fairly decent results this term, and came into today after a 7-0 win last week. This was a good game for the neutrals, with attacks better than defences, and it was surprising it only ended 1-1. Both teams missed an open goal in the first 5 minutes, Langford were generally on top for the first period with a goal after 35 minutes to show for it. Cockfosters' forwards gradually established supremacy after the break, had several opportunities, and finally evened it up as the game went into (rather long) stoppage time. I thought Mr Farrelly was a bit over fussy, but his two assistants looked pretty spot on to me, despite upsettiing both sets of players. Disappointing thing was hearing a Cockfosters official talking after the game about " its a very young team but we've got two 7 day approaches in for players at the moment". Its the same every where isn't it at this level - there's always someone trying to pinch your best players.
