No you are not Graeme, I believe we taught the red side of the island how to play football :)

I must be in the minority here.I thought we played better football than Saturday but I actually thought Ramsgate played the better football on the night.Good passing of the ball but sadly for them, no end product.

We were just slightly classier than them all round & that, together with a wonder strike by Matty was the difference between winning & losing.

Now now Ian Lets not get personal. Whilst Alan may just be winding you lot up & bantering I'm sure he will also have noted the contribution that Ramsgate players made to last nights game.

As Alan says its called banter Tony.PS was nice seeing you last night.

if the result had gone the other way this site would have been blitzed with comments nice and not so nice from some Rams supporters about Margate and the attendence would not even had been mentioned. So for the banter, taking the pi$$ etc etc fraid you the red side will have to live with it for a few days, man up take the defeat on the chin....your day will come one day but don't hold your breath.....

The grapes are certainly not sweet on the red side are they. I'm not sute why poeple thought Ramsgate looked quite so good. They loked better when they eventually threw men forward. In the first half, they looked out of their depth in midfield -Michael would have been pleased, I'd have thought.

We'd certainly have been complaining had we not won because on posession and chances we were much the better side. On both those indicators, I was expecting a closer match.

On another issue, I agree with the post (somewhere) about the sort of posts allowed on the Ramsagte official message board. The club is responsible for the posts and acqusations of misrepresentation of attendances )and other issues inthe past) are very misguided.

I personally thought that was the poorest Ramsgate team I've seen in years. They always used to be a strong, physical side, who gave away very little and put the opposition under a lot of pressure with direct tactics (nothing wrong with that). But I thought they were poor defensively and, once the ball got into our half, their passing left a lot to be desired.

perhaps they just had a bad night DM ?

There again-credit to Margate for nullifying them

I think we often have 'bad days at the office' as well.

They can't be too bad to be in top 8 of their league and gunning for the play-offs.

You sure you were there Mike?

I can see where Mike is coming from Tony. We have just been used to seeing Ramsgate teams that were strong & physical. (this team wasn't). To their credit, yes they did string passes together but didn't really make much use of it until that final few minutes when we did hold on.

Good luck to them for the rest of the season though (especially as wuite a few ex Margate lads there).

I will concur with the fact they wern't as hot or as rough & tough as they used to be but they did string some good passes together (at times) but as I mentioned & as you say they had no end product apart from an effort which hit the post and a miraculous leg stopping effort by saved by Overland.

Nice to know there is still a few sensible blues fans around, agree with what you say cookie, we have a lot of youngsters in the team and your experience won it in the end, but im sure that if pascal and pullman ( our two best strikers) were both playing things would of been a lot different.

Where did I imply you played the better football? To clarify: Ramsgate seemed happy to play it round at the back quite comfortably but, once they crossed the halfway line, their passing was poor. The defence was very shaky and, on another day, could easily have shipped a couple more. And the centre forwards didn't nearly hold the ball up well enough. Although, having said that, the lad who came on in the second half and played upfront did a fairly decent job
