New forum layout

Hi,

 

You will notice that we now have a slightly altered forum layout.

 

Gone is the step 1-4 & step 5-7 sections, so that all leagues are now at the same level for the first time.

 

As a result all league categories are now compressed as default, in order to reduce the length of the main index page. You can however open and close any that you wish. Your choices should be remembered on your next visit.

 

Within each league, you will start to see links to other forums - these will be added to so that each league will probably have several to various locations around the site.

 

As the majority of members stay within one league, this layout makes the best sense, but until now has not been possible.

 

I hope this will enable you to find your favourite forums quicker and also allow you to post in other forums without massive leaps up or down the structure.

When new posts are entered on a specific League/Forum Ian, it would be good to have a way of knowing !

One option is to subscribe to a forum - you can then be notified of new topics in any forum either via the internal notification dropdown or via email. I will do a blog on this shortly.

 

You can also click on the + on the forum index to show your league as always open and keep the rest closed

What is the best way to view a "sub-forum" - e.g previously we could access the Windsor forum easily as it was shown as a link at the bottom of the main CCL page

I understand what you are saying. This was because the club forums were sub-of the league forums.

 

http://www.nonleague.co.uk/forum/344-combined-counties-league/ is the revised CCL section, which is visible from the main forum index http://www.nonleague.co.uk/index from this main page you can see the CCL section, and either by opening the + or clicking on the league name you can enter it. If you just slide it open by using the + you can now see the Windsor forum there - so for the first time it is visible from the main forum index.

 

Your forum actually was at forum -> steps 4-7 -> ccl --> Windsor so well buried.
