A magnificent work of fiction - please discuss...

In today's NL paper, a number of quotes are attributed to EFC manager Terry Back re the forthcoming "grudge match", namely:

"Tony Lazarou puts GBP160,000 of his money into bankrolling this club each season but gets loads of stick. I think its a miracle he hasn't walked away."

"All the attention annoys me, it's only a game and I'm not even playing my first team."

"Tony won't be there as he only watches first team games."

"If Tony were a bank robber he'd get less bad publicity."

"He hold everything together, but still he's criticised despite his vast financial input."

Over to you the fans.......

Any news from EFC on what happened at Laz's most recent attendance at the FA? Now that would be a miracle!

Terry Back is running scared - but if you do put the kids out on Tuesday, Mr Back, you could end up with a large amount of egg on face!!!! The lack of respect being shown to Enfield Town is something you might come to regret.

Our old club must have hit a new low on Saturday if the NLP is correct in it's attendance for their home FA Trophy tie - a paltry 37. It's sad to see....I wonder whether the real reason he's claiming he won't field a first team on Tuesday is because he doesn't want those few remaining fans to attend the game and see how well things are run IN THE BOROUGH OF ENFIELD.

What got me was Ed Penn saying that EFC had never bad-mouthed our club just below quotes from Terry Back which do just that. And then he sort of did himself (but not to quite the same extent).

BTW, if any EFC fans are reading this, you lot know what we went through because you did as well, and are still going through it now. OK, you decided to stick with the old club rather than join the new one but we all went through that together. You also know that had Lazarou kept his promises he would have walked away already and we would not have formed a new club. Perhaps you could give Mr Back some background information and remind him that there used to be a ground at Southbury Road, there was going to be a ground at the Tesco Country Club, there was going to be a ground share with Cheshunt, there is always going to be a new ground in the Borough and it's always going to be announced soon, etc. etc. Well you know the score - you're still suffering.

Well where do I start

at the top

Ned

What about Brimo who are allowing you to share there ground

think before you write

Lovley Stuff

How long did it take you to think that one up

Anfield Towner

'Terry Back is running scared'

Thats not how he sounder to me when I last spoke to him about the game in fact he is quite looking fowrad to it.

'he doesn't want those few remaining fans to attend the game and see how well things are run IN THE BOROUGH OF ENFIELD'

I very sorry to dissapoint you But us Enfield Fans would not miss this game for anything you could have played in in Turkey and the FA would not have stopped us seeing this one.

Southport

EFC - not sure f they can survive another season, so we better make the most of this match it may be the only one to ever take place.

EFC will survive, as there are to many real fans that still care. with or without TL

As for it being the only game, its only a seeded draw that has kept the sides apart in previous seasons, you were to low down to play as and we dont treat this one as an important competition.

Cyclops

how do you know when Ed Penn and Terry Back were spoken to and when the comment were made, papers run things just how they want to seel copies which I am sure they have done in Enfield this weekend.

Mr Happy

I am sure |Terry has seen the papers like the rest of us I for one know that the stuff mentioned about Cheshunt this week had loads missing out of it as to the real rason before the moved to there not going ahead.

Im wait for the follow up story.

HOW TO GET INTO THE FA CUP

HOW TO GET SENIOR STSTUS IN TWO WEEKS

HOW NOT TO UPSET YOUR NEIGHBOURS

HOW TO STAY OUT OF COURT

Sohould make just as interesting reading for all new clubs trying to fnd there way in the world.

1. Freebird......It's a well known saying (originating from WW2,i think)....although i might not have reproduced the exact quoting of the phrase,i cetainly didn't 'make it up' and i thought it applied quite well.

2.Of course Terry's talking a good game....Over-optimism has always been the 'watchword' for Enfields (second) biggest fantasist.

3.Minimum 10 year groundshare at brimmo.

4.'Enfield have many real fans that still care'...Pity they didn't care enough to turn up to watch saturday's home game.

Someone from EFC has the cheek to ask where we are going to be in 10 years time.....peerlease.!!

So your saying the funding laws will be the same in 10 years time(If there anything like the Ryman or conference laws, the'll change on a yearly basis.

Also, with the revenue Town are bringing in(which i can only see increasing year on year),who's to say we won't have saved enough for a new ground by then (p.s...we hope to have our own ground in the borough BEFORE 10 years time,if possible.)

Also don't forget the main part of the building work, the main stand and covered stand..etc..will belong to ETFC, and we've been assured they can and will be moved to a new ground, when the situation arises.

I know which teams future long term survival,i'd rather have my money on.

Come on Rob, get real. Ed Penn badmouthed our club while saying EFC don't badmouth our club. We've heard some of Terry Back's comments from him in the past so we know he has badmouthed our club.

Yes I know that papers write things the way they want and the Non-League Paper has been badly at fault in that respect in the past, but please don't try to make it look as if Terry Back has had a change of heart and has only done so after Ed Penn has done his bit.

I remember a rugby club doing that some time ago.

NO im saying Football Foundations laws will be the same next season and with only nine years on the lease you are not going to get any more funding.

As for the Ryman League you should be looking at the ruling the Southern League have with regards to Ground Shareing and if you qulaify.

At present winning the ESL will put you in the Southern League Eastern Division on there current grading rules you would not get in even with a B Grade ground.

I am sorry to say but I must step in here because of what is being said.

The covered stands and terracing will be the property of ETFC and will go with the club in the future. The sponsor a seat scheme quite clearly states this so if you think the club is lying to its supporters to attract sponsorship, then I suggest that you say it now.

I take it that you are fully conversant with the Football Foundation rules. Things do change you know and what's to stop ETFC attracting funding from other sources? We do not sit still at this club. We have a mission and that is to get our own ground. If we decided to put all our eggs in one basket and it was to go pear shape, then we would be fools to ourselves.

We are a forward thinking club who will try all avenues to realise our ambition of having our own ground within the Borough.

I fully understand what you are trying to do. but the Football Foundation Grants have had a requirement of 10 years on them for as long as I can remember and that will not chage in the near future.

What seem to be left out is that you can only get money to progress to the next level and that in the case of Brimo is the a B Grade in the Ryman League as it stands at present.

It has been estimated that a club would need between 100.000 and 150.000 to progress from the B Grade to A Grade taking every little detail into account.

Without FF Grants that would be very hard to acheive and as you would only have nine years on the league next season sould your supporters not know whats going to happen.

A couple I spoke to recently did not understand this a thought FF Funding would be available as you had a 10 year Lease at the start.

At present the Brimo ground is not of a standard to enter the FA Cup it did not have the facilities on the day the paperwork was filled in.

You are in as we have seen but I can only woder How.

My understanding is that two grants were made, one to Brimmo and one to the Town.

Note that, Freebird, WERE made. The grant HAS BEEN approved and has gone through. So why are you squealing about us not being able to get a grant - not that it has anyithing to do with you anyway!

Your snide remark about the rugby club is inappropriate. Saracens upped sticks and left without notice, halfway through the groundshare agreement and without compensatin, it appears. Our agreements with our hosts are all above board and agreed, Brimmo know we aspire to a ground of our own within the borough. Some clubs do, you know.

But oh dear, are there really rules and conditions for clubs to progress to higher leagues? Gosh, I wonder if that has occurred to our directors? Someone had better ring them and tell them, quick, they may not have thought of that.
