Hendon1-2 'Ricay

Richard Halle (11 pen), Emeka Onwubiko (14)

That's a great Away win.

Hendon match report from http://www.hendonfc.net/News?method=archive&month=10&year=2011#3955:-

Hendon were beaten 2-1 by a strong, powerful Billericay Town side this afternoon.

The visitors took the lead in the 11th minute when Richard Halle converted a spot kick, and just three minutes later the lead was doubled when Emeka Onwubike was allowed to run unchallenged to score.

The Greens worked hard to try and get back into the game, but found that Billericay were just too strong and powerful, and the visitors were able to do the ugly side of the game very well and professionally.

Both sides had chances during the remainder of the game, but the only other goal came in stoppage time when Isaiah Rankin scored a deserved consolation for Hendon, but there was no doubt that Billericay deserved to take all three points.

An excellent away win for us.

Craig sprung a slight surprise selecting Onwubike up front alongside May but it proved an excellent move as he was tripped for the pen and scored the second

We were really good in the first half and it looked like it would be a comfortable afternoon

In the second half it looked like we were trying to kill the game but I thought this tactic backfired as we invited pressure and picked up another bundle of yellows

Swains was again quality at the back and I thought H had a good game on the wing. I know we didn't have too many options today but I didn't think Halle and Edwards looked the right combination in the middle of the park

We had a bit of a sweat at the end but I thought over the 90 we were just about worth the win

Well done to the team - let's see if we can get another away win Tuesday

Come on you Blues!!

Not much to add to what's been posted but thst was a big 3 points today from a game where i would have taken a point before kick off.

Omwubike was the star man for me with another top performance following on from Tuesday night's top effort,If he can carry on in this form maybe David Knight might not be missed so much.

Hopefully the boys will come back with something on Tuesday.

Well done fella's :top:

This was a very important win. With Semakula and Knight departing the club, plus no Junior (suspended) and Hawes (injured), it may have possibly derailed us. But we've dug in and grinded out a fantastic away win on a current promotion contenders patch. Quality second goal from Onwubike and we generally had the upperhand throughout the game despite late pressure from Hendon. Onwards to Horsham Tuesday.
