Ernie Britzman

In case anyone has come straight here and hasn't seen the website, Ernie passed away at 9.45pm.

 

Ernie wasn't just our President - he was affectionately known as "the Father of the Club" and was a founder member of the club, as well as a tireless worker over many years.

 

He was a goalkeeper, a manager, an administrator and, much overused though the word is, a legend. Ernie is one of a small group of people who helped to make this club what it is and local football is diminished for his passing.

 

My thoughts are with Ernie's wife, Vera and their family tonight. I was proud to know Ernie and will miss him deeply.

Just got up to find a text on my phone about Ernie's passing. I can only echo the previous sentiments and offer my condolences and best wishes to Ernie's family at this very sad time.

 

I will particularly miss his humour, friendship, and commentary on my growing waistline - the latter always said with his memorable smile. God bless him.

Wll there be any donations towards flowers or any chariites? I probably won't be around on Saturday, but I'm happy to give a tenner next Tuesday at the Egham game if so.
