Didn't deserve to lose this game and the (young) lads did us proud. Some nice football played (if a bit cavalier) and loads of hard work. Everyone put in a shift but unfortunately the home side got the rub of the green, the match officials and the bleating...

(this has become a fashion this season...the amount of teams that have obviously instructed their players to bleat like a lamb when a player brushes past them). Then again, it was abvious we lacked someone up front who had the nerve to get into positions to have a strike on goal (IMO, getting a striker is now a priority).

I wish Leiston all the best for the season and the competition...nice set up, good pitch and a tidy clubhouse, friendly officials (some of the supporters were a little over friendly....jl?)...but leave out the pickled eggs...they were rank!!!

To a degree, I'm disapointed we lost tonight as the lads didn't deserve the result but, if ya don't buy a ticket, you don't win the raffle (I think that's most of the sound bites covered from last night....jl?). To be honest, with the size of the squad we're carrying this season and the position we are in the league...perhaps last night was a blessing.

I thought we did well last night. You would say that only three first team regulars started, one of them the goalie, Junior who had a go at full-back and only Paul in his "proper position"

I thought we dominated the game for long spells and played some nice crisp football and as Gazz said worked hard. Dale made one good save in the first half but other than that we were largely untroubled until the final 10/15 when a combination of over-pressing for the win and tiredness meant that they became a lot more threatening. The way the game went I wasn't too surprised they nicked one at the end.

We had several very good opportunites, but too often failed to hit the target and tried to get the ball on our "better" foot rather than take a gamble and risk skying it over the bar. I suppose the ability to put the ball in the net is why strikers are at a premium and that kind of showed last night.

I thought all the youngsters could be pleased with their efforts, the pick for me probably being Onwubike. It is reassuring that we could introduce quite a number of these lads to the first team squad as cover with the knowlege that they wouldn't let you down.

Agree with Gazz that the priority has to be a (at least) striker and also agree them pickled eggs were well ropey. Will Umbrella Man ever recover? Who knows?

Big game for us Saturday - Hopefully we'll get a win to set us on the way again.

Come on you Blues!!

The visit to leiston wasn't what I was expecting at all, its far more remote than I thought, and everyone I met was its extremely friendly. Even the officials were clapped off the pitch. as was our teamnot many clubs say "lets have a big hand for" when introducing a sub, Nice club, nice set-up

Last night we had a depleted squad for various reasons , but those who stepped in did very well, we dominated large spells of the game , we played good football and we created plenty of chances, it was just a shame we didn't get a reward of a goal or two.

Well done lads. good game

An inexperienced side put on a pretty decent display imo and was unfortunate to lose. Both sides created chances, especially in the second half, the only difference being they took one of theirs.

Nice ground, decent food, except of the pickled variety.

Three points Saturday please. COYB

Given the inexperienced side we had to put out last night, does that mean Dave Collis is still serving a suspension and has Darryl Plummer left even though he is still listed as a player for sponsorship in the match day programmes?

P.S. Why do I have Warn Status against my name?

Just got back from the game about half hour ago  a shocker of a trip home taking 5 hours never good at the best of times let alone having a shocking hangover.

I did enjoy the match last night good to see a few of the younger lads coming though and playing well, was nice to watch a game with no pressure (league games are making me nervous at the moment) was a very even game which we could have gone either way.

Deffo need to bring a striker in asap with a hard run of away game coming up did look a little short up front.

Was a great little set up with some very nice supporters good bunch they were.

A little tip after drinking 10 Guinness don't eat 4 pickled eggs not a good mix suffered large this morning :nervous:
