Towners v Spurs Match Thread

PL. It was never marketed as anything else other than ETFC V SPURS DEVELOPMENT/YOUTH/RESERVE XI so what has your 'friend' got to moan about.

Spurs had some good young players inc Bostock, obika and Andros townsend.

It was a fantastic night to be a town fan... something I am really starting to think your not.

The spurs fans I spoke to at half time were very complimentary about the ground and the pitch (fantastic work by Jack Lucas) ... so much so they suggested the youth side play their games there.

Well done to everyone at the club who have worked so hard to get the QE STAD ready.

brilliant night.

£10.00 to watch the game this evening! Well worth it. 969 people turned up and there were no issues getting in. Mugged at the turnstile with 27 minutes on the goalden goal and only 200 out on the raffle! Who cares about the money?

Great night had by all and here's looking forward to our first home league game. Let's just hope that a good proportion of those at the ground tonight liked what they saw and will be back for more.

Again, well done to all.

Sounds like you had a good night and while it's good to get some money in,I do wonder if,knowing it was a youth/development x1 if your pricing of £10 was too high.

Your run of the mill ETFC fan probably wouldn't mind it,I would pay the same if it was my club but not too sure if at that price you would entice many back, which surely should be the key issue.

I assume your usual charge is £7-8 so why bump the price up,from the outside it looks like greed,I certainly wouldn't pay to £10 to watch two sides I don't support and If I did,I would probably be cheesed off a bit to find out that the price for a friendly v a youth team (albeit tottenham) had actually been bumped up.

Not trying to have a dig, just giving an honest point of view.We at Hornchurch have struggled with crowds for the last 12 -18 months, averaging around 250 compared to 400 when in the ESL/ryman 1 north. We played West ham pre season and although they sent down the reserves,we had a good crowd turn up but we charged a £5 as we felt any more would turn people off coming to watch such a game and more importantly, coming back.

Non league football is always going to be cheaper but can still cost a pretty penny if you have a family and don't earn much.

Fantasticly successful night, putting the result to one side, evrything else was nothing but perfection with many smiles on faces as well as a great site of Fathers with young kids coming along to watch an outstanding ETFC team play a fine Spurs X1 side.

I've spoken to many fans who attended for the first time last night that said they will come back to watch leagues games too. I also spoke to some who did'nt attend that said they had heard it was a great night and venue.

early days yet but what a terrific 10 days we've had at the QE.

Big well done and thanks to all who have made it happen.
