How can you be affiliated to 2 FA's though? I would have thought you can only be affiliated to the county that the team is from (or are Staines able to do this as, although they are from Surrey, their groundshare is based in Middlesex)?

Beano's already answered but just to add loads of counties will accept clubs from just across the border into their cups. Anyone who enters the Aldershot Senior Cup has to affiliate with Aldershot FA which is a sub-division of Hampshire FA.

Teams like AFC Wimbledon and, in the past, Dulwich Hamlet have been dual affiliated with London and Surrey FA's and so able to enter both counties' cups. i think, in the past, even Farnborough have been in the London Senior Cup.

One of the strange things is that AFC Wimbledon are 'parented' to London FA whilst Kingstonian are Surrey FA.

I believe county FAs get an allowance from the main FA for each team affiliated to them which is why they're willing to accept teams from other counties, no matter which boundaries you use.

It also means Guernsey may be able to affiliate to any one of a number of counties.

Bit confused then as we at Westfield are due to be playing Staines Lammas in the 2nd round of the Surrey Intermediate Cup.

How can Lammas enter 2 county cup competitions, or is the MCFA Premier Cup not the Middlesex Premier Cup as Beano suggests?

staines lammas are on the border of surrey and middx and play in both cups the surrey intermediate cup would only be for staines lammas reserves and westfield reserves

I work for the Middlesex FA, so I can assure you that my description of the Cup is accurate! Staines Lammas "dual-affiliate" to both Middlesex and Surrey FAs (as do Ashford Town (Middlesex), although since the groundshare, Ashford have stopped entering their Reserves into the Surrey Premier Cup) so are entitled to enter the competitions run by both County FAs. Only the "parent" County Cup (in this case, Middlesex) takes priority over League fixtures.

Westfield v Staines Lammas is a Surrey Premier Cup tie according to the Surrey FA website:

http://www.surreyfa....=1&tab=fixtures

Thanks for clearing that up Beano.

CWUFC have been affiliated to the London FA (as well as Surrey FA) for donkey's years but we haven't entered the london Senior Cup for two seasons due to the possible travelling issues via London.

I sort of miss the opportunity to play sides from other leagues and visiting some "interesting" and new venues.

We drew Clapton FC two years running; the first game kicked off at 8.20pm as they couldn't find our ground.
