V north wood

I personally thought Alex Brown played well, made a lot of last ditch tackles and did a pretty decent job against a class full back who was marauding forward. I do love how one game can be seen in so many different ways, no disagreement that Sean Sonner was class (but then he usually is)

The thing is Don JD, it often depends where you stand in the ground for you to see certain incidents etc. I find if you stand behind the goal you get a clear view of the goal being scored but can't always tell how all the lead up play happened.

At Northwood I was watching from the side on which Alex Brown and Steve Sinclair was playing ie dugout side and 1st half Alex Brown was having a torrid time getting anywhere near the Northwood left sided attackers, mainly because he was tucking in too near to NBH and the penalty area. In the 2nd half after the team talk,he adjusted and played a more traditional right-back role and coped far better.

As for Sean Sonner, there's no doubt that he did have an excellent game against Northwood and has this season been a revelation but 'class' just isn't a word I would use for him ! lol!

It's all about opinions and as 3spirit says sometimes it depends on where you view the game from.

What I would say is in the first and second half, every time Northwood attacked our full back positions they were dangerous and created numerous chances and in Alex Brown's defence he Tweeted himself that he thought he had a bit of a mare.

But it is a team game. His fellow right sided player, Sincy, works hard but isn't renowned for his tackling so this would perhaps increase Brown's workload.

Completely agree 3s you obviously had a better view! Nonetheless even if I was incorrect in staring he played well I feel our defence is much stronger with him in!!!

IMO stronger with him in when he is in the centre but vulnerable when he gets isolated and attacked at full back.

IMO Simon Sweeney is a better defender at right back and as a makeshift centre half. However, just having someone the size of Alex Brown in the team with NBH makes the opposition think twice about trying any rough stuff and for prescence alone, they bring something to the team. I must say that I do like Alex Brown's enthusiasm, though,as his Twitter page demonstrates.

Defensive wise I think we have a very good balance. If I was the manager I would play a sweeper system with the defenders we have but I must say so far Steve Bateman/Fred Cummings defence tactics have been excellent.
