Absolute rubbish. We won 5-1 here last season, what's going on?

 

We played fairly well against a good footballing side. We spent most of the second half defending, but never cracked and grabbed 2 goals.

 

4-2 flattered us slightly, but nonetheless it was a good and deserved win that keeps us top of the league.

I couldnt go tonight but just the result we wanted St Neots won 4-0 and Uxbridge won 4-1 and Bedworth 4-2 and Biggleswade 3-1

Best team we've played this season in my opinion. they'll score a load of goals against other teams. They were quick, played good football and their passing and movement was excellent. They're a couple of players away from being a very good team - if they had a James Warrington in goal and a Sean Sonner up front they'd be challenging right at the top.

 

This is the sort of game we'd have struggled to get a point from last season. We spent long periods chasing the ball and I was desperate for us just to hold the ball on the rare occasions we got it! Very difficult against this team however. But......we defended resolutely and when needed James was his usual dependable self. Up front we probably had six chances and scored four of them - Sonner and Burnell both in great poaching form tonight. If only we had a target man though .

 

Man of the match for me was Alex brown who time and time again thwarted attacks from Northwood. Great result guys - REBELS!!!!!

Sean and Danny were great tonight, they with the rest of the team wanted to win. Yes, we could have been behind at half time, but then we could have won at Greenford and Hayes (if only). Northwood always looked dangerous and their number 2 was a real terror for our defence. Slough did enough tonight and this was meant to be more difficult than on Saturday! Looking forward to Biggleswade Town!

3 points and still top, exactly the kind of result needed after Saturday's big effort... Have to say, Northwood have improved massively and the pace throughout their team was frightening, especially their right back who I think was a ringer and was Micah Richards, built like a tank and a tremendous attacking full back!!!

 

Well done boys, keep it up, bring on the Waders!!!

Yeah, just seen it BFR, seems more or less confirmed that Mpi made his last appearance for us tonight... Huge shame, he will be missed!

the game was a tough one on paper and it turned out that way. the defence and keeper yet again had a real battle on their hands and yet again were quality despite the tricky pitch bounce and also the fact the pitch is HUGE!

 

was a struggle to get the ball and when we did have it we lost it quite quickly we found it hard to keep it

 

when we did click though we took our goals superbly. the 1st from Burnell showed his class and why he is possibly the best striker in the league when on form. excellent improvisation for Sonners 1st that took an age to trickle in. Sonners 2nd was stunning volley but seemed NBH possibly fouled their defender arguably. Burnell calm as you like dispatched the 4th. good to see us being so clinical a trait we have perhaps not been so great with recently

 

from Northwood perspective i can understand if they feel stunned that they didnt get anything at all as they didnt do much wrong at all. their attacking style of play was as good as we have seen this season. their right back was impressive but far too greedy and for about 15 minutes 2nd half ran 100s of yards with the ball it seemed but didnt actually create or pass really anything after the runs

 

shame about Mpi but in fairness he hasnt exactly been prolific for us though granted he never got much of a regular chance. definitely clear the guy is a good player. good luck to him though i retract that statement if he is joining a promotion contender. we will need someone in fairly quick to cover losing him thats for sure and that wont be easy.
