Poxy Cups ! That's all I ever hear....... if they are poxy, please don't pay to enter the competition. Its disrespectful to the organisers.

As footballers and managers, its a great chance to win some silverware for the club you play for and for oneself ! If teams want to play squad players, play players getting back from injury etc, get friendlies and save your club the Cup entrance fee.

Why enter a competition if you don't want to win it....... strange !

11 changes in our side an it showed first half going in at 2 down but fair play to the lads that came in a better second half saw us draw level to then be beaten by a route one goal some positives kanani grabbing fourth goal in two an a few returning from injury

one plus a very good YOUNG referee not sure of his name ill try to find out, some bizarre bookings but stamped his authority on the game then let it flow an looking back he had a good day at the office!!

Great to have a referee congratulated.. he will be a Middlesex registered referee as it was a Middlesex Cup match, and if the County website is accurate, it was Jason Richardson, certainly a young referee, and already a Level 3 ref (promoted last year, so he is already beyond appointment to the ccl league middles.. ccl premier are level 4 refs, ccl first div are level 5 refs)

Often wondered why we have a div 1 cup and a prem cup which is open to all?

I know div 1 has less teams but with 34 league games I would have thought that was enough!

My post wasn't aimed at any particular person Newbs, its was a general comment.

...but that's exacty it tho' Newbs, you said it yourself. Your team uses the cup to look at players coming back from injury thus not fit, any new players and youth 'projects' - now with respect, I very much doubt you would win that cup. That is why I mentioned have friendlies where you can change subs, systems, positions as and when without any fear of losing.,,,, so in theory your club treats it as a 'poxy' cup (for one of a better word).

TF - correct, never a 'poxy cup' if they win !

CC - I think the CCL should have their respective league Cups but they should be respected by all the clubs. Some obviously do not care if they win it or not for reasons above, but it would become part of the clubs honours list and earmarked within the clubs history if they win the cup ! ............and some silverware for the player, which lets be honest is what we would all like ! I think I've got old fashioned mentality, but that is how I was brought up to believe .............

he gave some yellows which were not yellows but players then knew what the ref wanted the game to be like no high stuff no late stuff explained himself from what i could gather (I was on bench) but all in all the best referee i have seen this season with bob hoskins very close, his manner was respectful an not arrogant an he was approachable!!

just because we change the squad doesnt mean we necessarily dont want to win it it just makes it harder for those involved ie injured players coming back an youth tryouts aswell as probably most not playing together at all this season an not geling if you like. i personally always want to win our own league cup an i think we under estimated westfield by changing the squad to much butn as they say thats football!!!

also im a skipper an have been since about the age of 20 i love lifting trophies of course i want to win every game just ask me missus what im like when weve lost lol

Just like the Carling Cup and the Johnstone Paint Trophy, give the 'lesser' clubs a chance of glory

NG, players don't have any say in what cups the club enter and sometimes clubs don't either for example the County FA competitions.

Country Cups are non-optional (a fine if you choose to withdraw) likewise the League Cups. The FA Cup and FA Vase you have to apply to enter. The Southern Combination and Aldershot Senior I suspect are invitational and clubs do not have to enter if they do not want to.

When SL and I ran Frimley, we used the Southern Combination and Aldershot Senior to look at fringe players

Dorking 2-0 Sandhurst Town

Important 3 points for Chicks. Both goals in the first half. Ramsey scored first following a Dunning long throw, second scored by Hyett who couldn't miss after a fine cross from Smith. Fizzers had a lot of the play second half but overplayed a bit at times and Chicks were dangerous on the break forcing a couple of good saves. Didn't recognise a few of the Sandhurst players to be honest and seemed to be one or two key players missing.

I believe only 2 players from the start of the season are left at Sandhurst.
