Everything is aimed at striving to make the club better. No one is at fault in any way, just like a business, football clubs are about money nowadays whether we like it or not.Every penny counts and these suggestions are merely aimed at striving to bring more people into the club in whatever way possible. There are far worse clubs than ours,in many ways I think ours is the best but it shouldn't stop us from trying to better ourselves in any way possible. These forums, while some think they are a pain in the backside at times are a part of football as is the Internet, vital tools of communications and they have created some cracking ideas before and will continue to do so,as well as complete garbage and posts which can annoy many but on the whole the ideas/suggestions generated are done because people care about the club they support and just want the best for the club.

We can also learn from the good and bad of those before us.

The club has moved forward since i have been supporting afc hornchurch for nearly 3 years. Two main points are 1) keep the club debt free 2) improve the youth system to help feed the club with new players for future

Was just thinking about ways of advertising the club. And I thought maybe one way that isn't bring used is Facebook. I know there's a Facebook page but I think it is rarely used. Something the foreign clubs do is make events for all there games senior team and reserve team and they invite everyone on there page and u an say whether your attending a lot. Even if the page only has 100 people the people who reply to the post will show all there friends and so on. This could be used for games. Events and so on. Just a thought

On Thursday Chelmsford City held a nostalgia evening where ex Romford and City players from the 60s spoke about football from those long gone days, and then answered questions from the audience.

If anyone thinks listening to a load of old men talking about things that happened fifty odd years ago boring, think again, because there was more people in attendance than Romford or Hornchurch have attracted to a match all season, and every single one of us had a fantastic evenings entertainment, and spent oodles of cash in the bar. I understand City also have a supporters night every Thursday where they invite a current player or member of staff to answer question from the audience, and those nights are also very popular.

The City supporters club have raised £70,000 to pay for a very impressive bespoke ro ro terrace that sits directly behind one of the goals on the running track, and only has to be dismantled or moved? (takes a couple of hours apparently) during the summer athletics season.

Cracking football club are Chelmsford City with a very nice setup, and a lot of clubs like ours could learn from the way they conduct themselves with class and dignity.

Only difference between Chelmsford & us is about 1000 fans and they have city status

What has city status got to do with it?. Havering has a slightly larger population than Chelmsford, and it wasn't that many years ago that Chelmsford was groundsharing with Maldon and getting similar gates to yours so anything is possible.

If Hornchurch get promotion this season I would have thought a RO RO type terrace similar to Chelmsfords would be close to the top your wish list.

Would love permanent stands or ro ro stands but we are realistic,If chelmo have raised £70'000 so far,the so far would suggest there's more money needed, way out of our league, especially on crowds of 250 ish

As for city status,it helps as a football side, you will get maximum exposure in the local press, the whole city will have an interest, especially as a club progresses.a little metropolitan town like ours doesn't have the same effect.I bet there's not 1 person in Chelmsford who doesn't know there is a football club in the city, the same can not be said around here
