Team v Metro police

Disappointed with the result-particularly given the strength of the team.

Still credit to CK for fielding a strong team regardless.

Hate losing cup matches -but given the choice-would much rather have won tonight and lose against ramsgate than vivce versa.

Never mind.

If nothing else-hopefully tonights result will give any delusionists who still seem to think that the 'Gate are top 5 quality a chance to seriously re-think .

We are mid table quality at absolute best-and i 'm happy with that for this season-just mega disappointed with all the cup exits

Yep-the league cup has a higher value /esteem in my eyes than the KSC cup.

Naturally i want to win v ramsgate-but as posted -given the choice-would rather have progressed in league cup than KSC.

well done ramsgate for beating chipstead and progressing in the league cup-i am very envious-and will be even more so in the dark January /february nights.

Their supporters rightly got good value from the league cup when Ramsgate reached the final about 3 seasons ago.

Very jealous !

Sorry Michael but even CK has said this cup was at the bottom of his priorities.

Don't get me wrong I wanted us to win this game too (as I do all games) but for me KSC is more important especially as winners play Charlton in quarter finals.

How many people can name the current holders of the League Cup? And no Googling, please!

Sad to see us once again fail to concentrate at the back last night. I had thought that after Saturday they had sorted this out. Extremely annoyed & saddened that we fail to win last night considering we went two up & that the "consistency" factor fails us yet again. This defence really needs a good talking too i.m.o & CK needs to start taking some blame for allowing this to happen all too often.

Okay I wasn't there last night so maybe I am doing them all an injustice. However going by what I've read from some that were there it does seem to be that losing concentration or failing to continue playing as they had started has been our downfall. The scoreline itself anyway tells me something went wrong after going two up.Seems we once again woke up once going down a goal.We need to kill off teams more often from the front rather than have to chase victories from behind. We need to get this consistency right for league games.

In normal circumstances I would agree with Michael that the Boon cup takes priority over the KSC but this year the KSC means just a little bit more.Forget that it is a cup game anyway, thats not the important bit,it's the bragging rights we are after & a decent tie to follow.Taking on our local rivals with a possible fixture at home v Charlton to follow, no matter what kind of a team they put out adds a bit more to a normal KSC cup tie this season.

I, like others would like to win all games, league & cups but for me the league takes preference over all Cup ties though the FA Cup games are mighty important too. A defeat in a league game (though mightily important to avoid) can at least be made up later whereas the FA Cup is a one off & is the most prestigious & rewarding cup to be in for as long as is possible.

Although badly disapppointed with the result last, it was good to see Wayne running round the pitch prior to the match and Tom walking around without crutches and his injured foot in a normal shoe (although still with a limp) - looks like both are making good progress towards a comeback.

Just had a look and the last time Margate played in front of such a small crowd in a competitive game was on 1st Feb 2000 when 45 people watched a Southern League Cup 3rd Round tie at Fleet.

58 is the 7th lowest attendance ever recorded for a Margate game and there have been 14 recorded crowds of less than 100 in the club's history for completed games (there were 73 at Ashford when the KSC tie v Cray was abandoned).
