DOES HOME ADVANTAGE COUNT ANYMORE ?

NICE GUY

Recommended Posts

From studying this seasons results so far, it is something that has caught my attention....at grass roots football, does home advantage count anymore, or infact did it ever ?

From the stats on CCL Premier it doesn't ... just !

From Saturday's CCL Premier results they highlight the following:

1 Home win

2 Draws

6 Away wins !

So lets analyise these 6 away wins. Is it 'cos 4 of those away wins were from teams in the top 5 ? One could say they were favourites to win their respective fixtures BUT do clubs prefer to play away ?

Why you ask ? -

From calculating wins in the CCL Prem there are more AWAY wins than at home....just !

There are 72 home wins = 216 pts

There are 73 away wins = 219 pts

Strange stats you may think........but interesting !

As Chris says, if you have a loud home crowb backing your squad, that helps.

Problem in non-league is players availability.

Yep. We had only 11 players at Banstead and only 12 at Farnham on Saturday.

I think the noise from most of the home crowds can really get to some of the players and puts them under pressure.

When I heard some old boy last Tuesday give out because some player failed to trap a ball you could see the heads drop amongst all the home team......

we were unbeaten at home last year the only team to do so all season but didnt get promoted due to our away record your home ground needs to be a fortress an go into battle away to get those three big ones ;)

dont think it makes much difference unless you go somewhere like Cambo -Hartley for example where they have a sloped pitch - or Bookham/Dorking where the pitch is just plain awful!

Teams that play week in week out on it will get an advantage

Guernsey only home game where crowd will be an advantage

Camberley this season

Home W3 D1 L3

Away W6 D1 L3

Last season we won 12 at home, 13 away.

There's no advantage to us playing at home!
