May I draw your attention to the Molten Spartan South Midlands Football League Official Handbook.

 

Rule 8.21

All clubs will be responsible for their official website or similar computer related information system, which is within the public domain. Nothing shall be included on the website which in the opinion of the Board brings the Competition or the Company into disrepute.

 

"Company" means The Spartan South Midlands Football which administers the Competition and shall, where the Competition is an unincorporated entity, include that entity.

"Competition" means The Spartan South Midlands Football League.

May I suggest they concentrate on teams that want to start fights every week and disregard ground grading (which in my opinion is ott) if clubs spend money on it and others choose not to and throw a few quid at players instead I would suggest that is unfair. Both of these more important than people having an opinion and expressing it on a forum. Last time I checked we lived in GREAT Britain and we have the freedom to express ourselves......and like someone said better on a small unofficial forum than on the sidelines

Problem is though WB that this little forum, being on the world wide web, has a much greater potential readership than the number who just attend games.

HTFCew of course I understand that but I'm sure most would rather it was vented here than in their face don't you? Of course officials etc have a responsibility but surely this is a way to air feelings good and bad and we shouldn't feel like big bro is controlling what we can and can't say. I would say most are reasonable human beings and nothing gets taken to a dangerous point. Why shouldn't people be able to criticise as they are allowed to praise nothing is stopping anyone disagreeing or defending! I have to take criticism in what I do sometimes to personal and in my opinion unjust but I can't control other people's thoughts.....if only

There is nothing wrong in given an opinion on here or any other forum / social network.

 

If a Referee was rubbish then he was rubbish. If he got decisions wrong he got them wrong. Say so but be careful how you say it.

 

It's when that mark is over stepped that a Player or Club Official can get into trouble.

 

As I have stated elsewhere, Referees are also held to account as to what is written on-line.

 

If a Referee highlights match incidents, especially those that involve criticism of Clubs or individuals they then will have sanctions imposed against them.

 

Describing incidents of dismissals and misconduct is also not allowed as it can prejudice any appeal by the Club.

In your opinion where is the mark though Pete? There seems to be nothing in place when we slag off the quality or perceived lack of it in opposing teams if I was to slate Hoddy for instance for being $hite etc etc... What could they do? I fired into sun postal recently if I was a player or manager what could they do? Probably nowt is my guess

I wonder if the SSML took Bicknells 300 other offences on here into account? Fair play to the SSML for taking action. It is long overdue, no matter what the Bicknell bottom lickers say.

 

If you want to act like an idiot on here, abusing officials and threatening people from behind your keyboard then there shoud be consequences. it gives the club a bad name and ultimately the club is responsible for the actions of it's players and officials.

So this fine has been handed out by the SSML?

 

Would be interested to know where this money goes! Do they issue yearly financial reports to prove where money coming in is spent? Obviously they'll be a non-profit organisation or am I wrong? Are they listed with the HMRC as a trading company? Are they VAT registered?

 

All genuine questions - would love to know!

I think the main issue in Craigs case was how the criticism was done. As PTG said, if it was just a case of saying he was really bad and highlighting a couple of reason why this was the case then nothing would've happened. It was the manor in which he called the ref a Spotty something or other which is what has lead to the fine.
