Agree Cookie re the report, a case of sour grapes maybe, and the 25 minute delay slightly exaggerated.

Saying that I do agree W&F look a good side but our lads applied themselves really well I thought, which reminds me I must do a MOTM :D (even if we all know who will win it!)

yes read the report early on....sour grapes if you ask me as for the comment 'farcical situation' regarding the floodlights these things happen and deep down they wanted the game called off, like I'm sure we would if the situation was reversed with 10 men and 2 goals down

Yes Alan, like I said a few discrepancies, that one included. It was in the 4th minute too not the 2nd as I checked my watch at the time. As for the shirt rippng??.

Actually on my watch the incident happened on 2' 10" the penalty was not taken until 4' 23". The second half lasted 45' 40".

In fairness the foul was on 2 minutes but of course it was clearly a pen and red card. I don't recall any of our people claiming otherwise with Pooley at Wealdstone. As for the comment about the floodlights - they went out, there were fixed, we played on. That's how it is supposed to work and how it did - strangely enough - at Wealdstone's game too. Unfortunate language perhaps on an official website. Still, it does still say 5-0 on both websites :)

Also makes me want to repeat the irony of the comment in their preview of the match that we had only scored 5 home league goals all season ... until Saturday :D

From what i have read-it does seem they are a good side-but in the report-is it a bit small minded to talk of the long away trip ?

Admittedly-not great on a tuesday night-but on a nice crisp saturday morning-there are worse journeys than north london to Margate-a bit small minded that ;and when you get promoted-its what happens -perhaps someone needs to remind them.

(which is why i feel MFC are not yet ready to take on conf south with trips to the likes of dorchester and truro.

That given how did we do trips to places like merthyr tydfil in the sixties in the southern league ?

Nothing wrong with an away trip to Truro - It's in God's country, have a good pasty fest, a couple clotted cream teas, and a game of footie as well. Go down on Friday, stay in a nice pub, come back on Sunday - MAGICAL!
