Slough v St Neots

We were excellent. Warrington was brilliant, the defence rock solid, organised superbly and dominated St Neot's much vaunted (by me) strike force. The midfield was hard working tenacious and Paul Coyne again ran the show. Sonner was Sean Sonner - tireless, unselfish and determined with Ben Abbey's movement allowing Swifty to plant a pin point cross on his head.

Their best player probably their keeper who himself made two great saves.

Great stuff Rebels - keep it going. Only downside I'm not curently in the bar/Farnham Park celebrating but I'll save that for later.

COYR - We are top of the league say we are top of the league!

Best game of the season. Fantastic match.

First half we had them under a lot of pressure and got the 2 goals, second half they came out and applied more pressure on us with Warrington making some great saves (as did their keeper) and we got a bit of luck especially with one of their attempts hitting both posts in one go! Our defence held strong and with a little bit more luck we could have scored more goals.

Well done to the entire team, a brilliant result and well played all round. Warrington probably edges MOTM for his fantastic saves but the whole team deserves credit for that result.

St Neots drop to 8th after todays results, 8 points behind us but with 2 games in hand. We are now 2 points clear of Bedworth at the top!

Hoping for a similar result in our next matches! Top of the league again!

That was just what we needed after Tuesday. St Newts fans were unhappy with the referee in the first half but both penalty shouts were justifiably waved away. One fan also criticised our route one football?! Yeah, with our massive strikers......Abbey and Sonner!!!

In the second half with a two goal lead I thought we defended well with outstanding performances in particular from Alex Brown who was immense and James Warrington who made two or three outstanding saves and deserved the luck he got when one rolled along the line off the post.

Up front we could have had one or two more but the St Newts keeper made one brilliant save himself from a dipping Sonner half volley. Only disappointing thing was two more cards for verbal, one for Sonner when he had no right to complain as it wasn't a foul and a card for Coyne which makes it five bookings and a ban. The form he's in at present we'll miss him.

Yes a very satisfactory day We are top again and for the first time in years we have our leagues best goal difference ( the defence has conceded just 4 goals in the last 8 league games) and to top this we achieved the leagues best attendance of the season 379 which beat the previous best (St Neots)by 3 I posted a few weeks ago that I wasnt convinced by the hype around St Neots and I saw nothing today to change my mind This was their fourth league defeat. I believe we will find Tuesdays game at Northolt a bigger challenge.

Come on, that's unacceptable negativity from you Irishadrian :)

We played well today and got the 2 goal lead and it was more than enough to see out the win. We absorbed what St. Neots could offer and threatened once or twice as well.

We had a little luck along the way where they hit the post and it could have gone anywhere, but after Tuesday night I think we were due for a little luck.

Forgot to mention the only real downside to today's game was yet another 2 bookings for dissent.

Brilliant performance by all the Slough team today. Sean Sonner and Paul Coyne were exceptional but for their needless bookings.Adam Martin had his best game in a Slough shirt since he rejoined. All the defence played well [particularly Alex Brown and NBH] and James Warrington is proving to be an excellent acquisition.

Thought Danny Burnell didn't put much effort in when he came on,which is disappointing considering he was so hungry/good against Woodford.Perhaps he's sulking because of Ben Abbey starting from the off.Burnell should be chomping at the bit.

As for St Neots,Slough throughly deserved the win, although in the 2nd half they[st Neots] did have a couple of dangerous moments but overall I thought St Neots were all hype and no substance.Mind you it appears they're missing one or two of their most influential of players but then again they would say that !
