What follows is my own personal opinion ....

 

I have a copy of an email from the Essex F.A. which confirms that our ESC3 game vs Thurrock should be played on the weekday evening Thurrock usually play their midweek games (i.e. Tuesday). The email states that the game can only be shifted to an alternative evening with the consent of BOTH clubs. It is my understanding that we indicated that Monday would not be acceptable to us.

 

It appears that today this official, who shall be nameless, reneged on this decision and instructed us to play the game on Monday. This suits Thurrock as they don't play on Saturday. I would love to publish the email on here for all to see but I have more honour than its author.

 

I also understand that Thurrock were very economical with the truth when pressing for a Monday slot.

 

It saddens me that the word of senior officials cannot be trusted - and the Essex F.A. wonder why their flagship competition is not held in higher esteem.

 

I believe we have been shafted.

I heard we had the backing of the Essex FA who were not happy with Thurrock.

Personally I think we should stage a mass protest as we have been stitched up big time by someone who has obviously been wrapped round thurrocks little finger

Somethings not right bob,it would seem that from a position of us being in the right,an Essex FA official has suddenly got involved and Thurrock who couldn't play the tie on the original date because THEY HAD HIRED THEIR PITCH OUT EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THEY WOULD HAVE AN ESSEX CUP TIE THAT WEEK are now deemed to have done nothing wrong and are rewarded withan easier tie due to us playing 48 hours earlier and them not.The official should be named and shamed
