Guernsey FC v Feltham

Recommended Posts

I was at the game as a neutral and thought it was an absolutely cracking game and a great advert for the Combined Counties (Unlike Windsor v Spelthorne Sports last Monday!) Both teams were an absolute credit to their clubs and everybody involved can be proud of their contribution. Chatting to the Sky guys after the final whistle they were also very impressed with what they had witnessed, and we'll be able to see what they made of it on Saturday at about 14:30.

We went over for the weekend and were on the same flight as the Feltham lads, match officials and Sky Sports crew. We also saw some of the Feltham boys enjoying the bright lights of St Peter Port in the evening.

Guernsey is an incredibly beautiful place, and the great weather was also a welcome bonus for November. Lots of stuff to see, and it was certainly very poignant visiting the Occupation Museum on Remembrance Sunday.

If any of you get the chance to make the trip I urge you to take it. One of my best footballing weekends ever.

What a great write up, if i didn't already know what a beautiful Island is already you would of sold it to me well done, it appears everyone had a good day all round. Congrats Guernsey

Unfortunately its not the first racist comment I heard, your keeper did well and had a bit of banter with the crowd and also Roary. At one point Roary jokingly squared up to him, your keeper just gave a great big smile.

Sadly like all communities we have the odd idiot.

I guess Smudge will still hate/be jealous Guernsey FC!

I was embarrased to start with, but once Roary got into it he was quite funny. There was even a chorus of "We love you Roary we do, oh Roary we love you"

Mind you when tried to have some fun with a steward behind the goal the steward was having none of it. He got some boos off the crowd.

Ok where do i start! Absolutely loved the the whole weekend the people of guernsey were top notch! The game was quality i enjoyed the banter i had with the crowd after my la liga dive i put in just for the crowd. I thought they played some great football but we played some good stuff ourselves. So close to scoring as well but in the end one man showed a level of finishing far greater then anyone i have seen at this level. Hopefully will make the showboat on sky as i got in 4 nutmegs on the defenders which the crowd seemed to enjoy( Brunty take note!) Also got the 360 in on the mascot under the stand! Big thankyou to maisie cat and the girls for looking after us and supplying us with lots of free beer and food to set us up for what can only be described as a propper night out! Lets just say the Feltham boys went down well with the people of guernsey and the ladies of course! still looking for a couple of the lads now! Awesome experience thank you Guernsey :yay:

Great to see so many positive posts on Guernsey. Told everyone from the start how good we are at looking after our guests.

What a weekend, and what a game.

Firstly got to say, i'm so proud of all my team mates, who put in a thoroughly disiplined performance, and really restricted Guernsey to long shots a lot of the time. We looked really dangerous on the break, especially as their full backs were so far up the pitch, and their passing around the back, wasn't always 100%

The crowd were great, there was good banter with them, and it was mostly repectful. (There was some racist comments to our Keeper on the day ). The standing ovataion from the stand at the end, will live with most of the players, it was like in Rocky 4, when the russians got onside with Rocky.

The welcome was amazing, i think most teams have said it, but the whole trip was really well organised, and we had a great night in the town on Saturday. I'm totally hangning now with only 5 hours sleep in 2 days.

Nice to meet the Donkey, even if his comments were heavily biased.

And enjoyed the impromptu penalty shoot out i had with the Mascot's at half time, who has some great tekkers for young ones.

Literally don't have 1 bad thing to say about the whole thing, and can't beleive some teams are against their involvement in the league, they are a credit to it, and to the people of Guernsey, who were amazing to us all weekend.

Theres no excuse for racist remarks I wish the culprit was pointed out to stewards. Your keeper had a good game and took crosses very well.

Of course I'm biased ! isn't every one a little bit towards their team lol ! My Twitter commentary was non biased I thought I Tweeted your chances as well.

Feltham played very well and we didn't pass as well as we normally do so this all combined led to our least impressive home performance yet.

Well done Feltham !

p.s. I was in Follies night club if I spoke to any of you I can't remember much as I was very drunk as I was out on a friends birthday do ! lol

It looks like Guernsey FC really know how too look after thier guest which is no surprise to me as they are some of the nicest, kindest, generous people you could ever want to meet.

and if Guernsey can sort out a few sing songs for game day they will have it sussed, well done GFC i feel that if you wished you would have most of the CCL wanting to sign for you.

It would be great to improve the squad with 1 or 2 UK based players, but until we reach our level we will probably stay with Island players.

We have always been very welcoming to guests in Guernsey, its something we are very proud of :)

We sing a few different songs at away matches now and we did sing at home on Saturday. I think singing at home is something we will have to get used to doing, but we will get there I'm sure !

The drumming I thought helped, certainly heard a few songs on Saturday.

I thought the drumming was good the only thing I didn't like is the drumming during a corner.

The drums in the build up to a corner was ok but after the ball was kicked they should stop as it must be distracting for the players ?
