Guernsey FC v Feltham

Recommended Posts

I must say it was a very decent game, the most competitive I have seen at Footes Lane. Feltham were very well organised defensively and also had a bit about them going forward as well. Nice to see their players take the crowd banter in good humour as well. 2 brilliant finishes from Ross Allen was the difference. Chris Tardif also made a few cracking saves to keep our clean sheet. Well done Feltham, i really enjoyed the game. Hope it comes off well on Sky Sports next week!

GD, crowd was 1752 and a lion as the stadium announcer said!

Did they have a name for the lion?

I posted the name on an earlier tweet.

so let me get this right half of 8 is 2 ?

Just so you know i have 1978 Ford cortina for sale for £500 but you can have it for half the price if you want so that will be .........let me think here...........£6579.23

You must learn to think laterally vrfc196. There were 2 teams, and Footy Mad correctly predicted the score of of 1 of them, so he was half right. Right? ;)

Its next sat on Sky Soccer Saturday no idea what time. Have to say the Feltham boys were brilliant and really entered into the spirit of the day. There are some great photos on Guernsey FC facebook page of them with the mascot and Tekkers was great with the crowd. Hope he gets a showboat spot on Sky ; )

What a weekend, and what a game.

Firstly got to say, i'm so proud of all my team mates, who put in a thoroughly disiplined performance, and really restricted Guernsey to long shots a lot of the time. We looked really dangerous on the break, especially as their full backs were so far up the pitch, and their passing around the back, wasn't always 100%

The crowd were great, there was good banter with them, and it was mostly repectful. (There was some racist comments to our Keeper on the day ). The standing ovataion from the stand at the end, will live with most of the players, it was like in Rocky 4, when the russians got onside with Rocky.

The welcome was amazing, i think most teams have said it, but the whole trip was really well organised, and we had a great night in the town on Saturday. I'm totally hangning now with only 5 hours sleep in 2 days.

Nice to meet the Donkey, even if his comments were heavily biased.

And enjoyed the impromptu penalty shoot out i had with the Mascot's at half time, who has some great tekkers for young ones.

Literally don't have 1 bad thing to say about the whole thing, and can't beleive some teams are against their involvement in the league, they are a credit to it, and to the people of Guernsey, who were amazing to us all weekend.

I was one of those in the stand that gave you a thoroughly well deserved standing ovation at the end!

I in turn thank all of you for applauding us back. It's that kind of atmosphere we are so enjoying.

I'm appalled that there were racist remarks made to your goalie but we do have a lot of dinosaurs on this island... No excuses can be made for that kind of behaviour. I hope it can be stamped out. Your goalie is a class act and I for one don't care if people are black, white, yellow or green..as long as they stand their round :-)

I have a facebook album link a page or so back, I hope you'll enjoy my photo's for a flavour of a good day out.
