We have a bit of banter... after I've finished my programme selling duties....and a programme is £1.50

 

We'll even be sitting at the same table for the GFC Christmas Ball next month and before you ask, so will our other halves!!!

I'm heading over to Guernsey for the weekend to re-complete the Combined Counties League grounds and visit the Good Beer Guide pubs. It's a tough life!

there are some good pubs not in the GBG too...for the shortest pub crawl go to the Cornerstone ( POTY 2011-12) and then next door to the co ck & Bull. Both pubs have been POTY on more than one occasion.

 

You might be able to swing a Randall's Brewery visit Saturday morning too if you give them a call tomorrow.

Are Guernsey U/21 not in action tomorrow against the arch enemy,down at the Track.Could have an effect on the size of the crowd.Club v Country ?

The U21 Muratti is on at the Track like you say.

 

I don't think it will affect numbers as I think the Guernsey FC supporters will still turn out at Footes Lanes and those in local football who oppose GFC will go to the Track ( there are a small minority who don't like the idea of GFC, Mainly your older fan who doesn't like change )

 

Local football had become very boring with very small crowds and people are voting with their feet and choosing to watch Guernsey FC. Going to new clubs away, meeting some people off the forum and playing infront of a big crowd has revitalised Guernsey football and has brought a new excitement to ourt local game.

Some people are unhappy with GFC but they are in the minority, you always get some who can't see the bigger picture.

i think its good i had a good chat with steve dewsnip? after our game an all involved want the best for the players an everyone involved with the club and are all pulling in the right direction from what i gathered in the conversation. i know its roughed up a few people and although we lost was a pleasure to be a part of the day guernsey do things the right way on the pitch an off it to!

Like i have said beforei have friends in Guernsey who play Priaulx Football and basically play thier heart out to get noticed by GFC / Tony Vance, they all know Priaulx football is old hat, no one watches it, boring league, and as GD said it has brought a freshness to Guernsey Football that was missing for a long time.

 

The only people who appose it are the old boys who don't like to see change but im sorry CCL is the way forward, for Guernsey to play week in week out is great for thier Island something possitive to support, who knows how far they will go but im sure they will have a great time finding out.

 

Also i feel that the Muratti maybe finished next season, it won't have that feel about it cause in the past they saw their Island team play once a year now its every week its a no brainer. I think if you gave the locals a choice between a top of the league clash or the Muratti .......the CCL would win hands down everytime.

We enjoyed the visit to Bedfont too. You've got a great pitch there and a brilliant club house. Our clubhouse is being built now I hope its as good as yours !.

 

Our aim is to bring a bit of colour and some good hearted banter to away games. Our travelling support is probably a bit of a novelty for the other CCL teams as well.
