Unfortunatley the only thing that wasn't in focus was our goal! Having seen the "penalty" again, Warrington clearly got the ball (it was nowehere near their player) without going in feet or studs first, and their player clattered into him. Absolutley shocking decision.

The ball was travelling to the corner flag , before the AFC hayes player clattered into James ..feet first !

 

So our goal keeper got no protection at all ! Got injured by being brave then got booked ! what a farce !

The more and more I watch it, I cannot for the life of me understand what the officials were thinking... Similar to the penalty awarded against us in the Play Off Semi Final defeat by Hitchin last season!

 

I understand what Ian is saying, due to the officials incompetence prior to the penalty decision and the level of stick they were receiving, who knows, they may have decided to stitch us up...

 

Can that video be sent to the FA? Be interesting to see what kind of response, if any, was received!

Cookham Rebel: for once I am in full agreement with you, I have watched that several times and it was never a penalty.

I think by that point in the game the ref and linesman had lost the plot. They looked like scared rabbits caught in the headlight

by then.

Who's to say that the stick they had received from Rebels players and supporters didn't sway that decision? This is where I wonder if our excellent away following does us no favours. It's not reasonable to expect supporters (or players in my opinion) to remain silent in the face of such dreadful decisions like we had on Tuesday. The flip side is does that negatively influence referee and linesman? Possibly.

Unfortunately Ian you are correct. Supporters and/or players giving the ref. stick can influence them when the

decisions are marginal. Should not happen, I know, but they are only human after all. Who would want to

do a person any favours at work if they were giving you stick after all?

Apparently the Ref's assistant gave the penalty, who I think was further away from the incident than the Referee and very rarely do they get over-ruled.

The video shows the ref immediately awarding the pen, so I'd be surprised if the assisstant gave it - his reaction time would be incredible!
