Sadlers Farm can be a bit of a lottery at weekends. However I would still advise going this way. I would not go via the weir. It will take longer.

 

Approach the junction from the A13 and not the A130, as any queues will be shorter due to the flow of traffic.

 

The roundabout is operating as one at the weekends, rather than individual ones, however I still use it and have not have any major issues at the weekend, as long as I avoid the A130 southbound.

 

Coming off the island you should not have any issues coming up the A130 as the slip to the A13 should be open. Would advise taking this route.

The only alternative is to use the A127 as far as Rayleigh Weir, then go through to Hadleigh and follow the signs to Benfleet and Canvey - note that the road weaves around quite a lot, but whilst it may take 20 minutes longer, it is better than waiting for up to ninety minutes in a traffic jam.

 

 

The most I have waited at weekends has been 5 minutes via the A13. There are longer queues on the A130 which is the way that Bury would have come.

Fair enough - I was only giving my experience having been through the junction on several Saturday's living close by.

There was engineering work on the C2C line that day so expect it added to the congestion on the roads.

There has been some considerable amount of comment on the another forum about Sadlers Farm, and some real horror stories about delays at weekends.

 

Please remember also that the road that runs parallel to the A13 is blocked off at the Salders Farm exit at weekends, and the entire series of mini roundabouts are also blocked off.

 

So play it safe and go via Rayleigh Weir.

 

I know that Bury supporters got caught out at Sadlers Farm recently and so did Canvey supporters travelling to Grays - so why take the chance when there is a perfectly viable alternative?
