Jago, from the tunnel to get to Canvey you have a few options

1) avoid the A13 at all costs, although if you want to avoid the M25 roadworks upto the A127 you can join the A13,go to the A128,then follow signs to Brentwood to join the A127.Travel down the A127 to the A129 (Rayleigh weir),turn right off the slip road and follow this down for a mile or so (maybe a little bit more) going over a couple of mini roundabouts until you get to a very very large roundabout with a green in the middle, from there you can get onto the island going straight over and following signs for Canvey

I think you go past benfleet station before joining the usual roads to get to this prestigious ground

If you get lost give me a bell

Yes - go past Benfleet station and keep on for about 400 yards and you will come to the roundabout at the other (Canvey) end of the A130.

Just to repeat the warning - do not use the A13 or the A130 - the series of mini roundabouts are blocked off at weekends, and the old A13 which runs parallel to the new A13 is also blocked off. The end result is a 'normal' roundabout, and there can be massive delays.

In addition, there are roadworks on the A13 just before the Basildon turning, and these can also cause delays.

The only alternative is to use the A127 as far as Rayleigh Weir, then go through to Hadleigh and follow the signs to Benfleet and Canvey - note that the road weaves around quite a lot, but whilst it may take 20 minutes longer, it is better than waiting for up to ninety minutes in a traffic jam.

Sid has now put out a warning on the official web site. I know that Bury supporters going to Canvey Island the other week missed the start, and likewise Canvey supporters going to Grays also missed the start of the respective matches.
