ITS DISGUSTING.....

NICE GUY

I'm with Krooner:

We need to remember why we wear the Poppy. It is worn to remember the members of the services who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Football has a way of bringing people together and is known as 'The Soldiers' game. During times of conflict football has a way of bringing individuals, families, communties and countries together. It is always a discussion point and a way of braking the ice during difficult situations.

FIFA have a set of rules, many we may not agree with, however; there are lots of countries who would exploit any rule change if we were allowed to wear our Poppy on the England shirt this weekend. The FA should channel all their efforts in trying to change FIFA's rule into making sure that Wembley Stadium is transformed into a giant Poppy for the game!

On a slightly different angle; This year is the worse so far for sales of the Poppy! Why is this? Are you buying the new metal badges once and not replacing it each year?

What's stopping England players wearing a poppy sticker. If they get fined for doing so I'm sure they can afford to pay it! Even if they wore it onto the pitch and got asked to remove it.

FIFA have not banned the Poppy, their rules state that nothing can be worn apart from the National badge and manufacturer logo etc. The problem is allowing this would open the floogdates, what happens when we play Argentina and they want to mention something about the Falklands War for example? Other countries would abuse this and it would led to no end of trouble.

I dislike FIFA but agree with them on this.

If England tried to flout the rules like some in the media have said they should do will make the situation worse. I have no doubt that the Ref will be told that if they did this then the game would be called off.

I hope all CCL sides will be observing a minutes silence before each match this weekend? Wonder if the league have actually taken the initiative and told referees/clubs to hold a minutes silence??

Clubs should not need telling!

Apparently according to todays paper, the Germans have no problem with us wearing a poppy.

Incidently, DFC are raising money for 'Help The Heroes'. One of the match officials last night donated his match fee to the cause. Well done, that man !

It doesn't matter wether you think it's right or wrong for our troops to be out there. They are there because they serve their country and deserve everything we can give them.

Hence, a message to FIFA................. 'Get A Life, Or Get A Poppy !!'

Just watched an article on Sky and if the players go ahead and wear the poppie the referee has the power to stop the game going ahead. What a joke. The Israel national side have the star of David on their shirts. If thats not political what is ? Because its part of their flag they are allowed to wear it. Unbelievable !

I wonder if any officials at CCL games are doing the same this weekend and donating their fees to the Royal British Leigion or Help for Heroes?

Wouldn't that be a nice gesture by the 'Men in Black'?

Will any players do the same Ace??

SF, I'm not sure which teams and players are paid however; it would also be a great gesture if the players donated their 'travel money' to the RBL for this weekend. I wonder, if any, will?

If Baggy Lea donate their players wages then the RBL could continue for another 40 years!!! ha ha
