Chertsey v Daventry Tuesday 8th Nov

Yes i know its not ccl but last seasons promoted team from the ccl prem are playing against Daventry in the Southern League Central tonight which looks like being a cracker.

 

With only 3 ccl matches tonight to choose from, any groundhoppers not going to these other matches are very welcome at Alwyns Lane tonight 7.45pm ko.

 

A couple of well known footballing names will be locking horns including ex Aston Villa and England midfielder Lee Hendrie for Daventry, and ex Arsenal midfielder Ian Selley for Chertsey Town.

Of course worldy kings Page and Johnston will also be there!

there is a very large Asteroid called 2005 YU55 speeding past Earth late tonight. Earth has close encounters like this every few decades, or as often as you see a worldy from Johnno!

 

The Asteroid will be amazing to see, much like my worldies!! Always worth the wait !!

 

Pagey and Bennett are on fire so expect some late fireworks from those two!!

2-1 to Daventry at HT if anyone interested. Scrappy game chertsey gifted 2 goals through bad errors. Pitch isn't looking to clever either which is making it difficult to play.

Must have learnt something Yossa..............Chertsey defence makes errors !

Wasn't a bad game to watch and how Chertsey did not go in at the break by a couple in front i dont.

Missed two great chances from set pieces and hit the post twice. Bennet was excellent in the first half.Daventry did not look in it but pounced on 2 errors and lead at the break. Second half was a bit more even and Daventry always looked dangerous on the break. Their front 2 were decent. Chertsey then missed several more chances with the Daventry keeper making a couple of good saves. 4-1 was not really a fair relection but thats how it ended !

Disappointed does not even begin to describe it. When you give the opposition two gifts without them even threatening our goal, you're always going to be up against it. Should have been out of sight by half time after hitting the post twice and missing 2 headers from all of 5 yds out. It came back and bit us with two massive errors at the back and then not reacting positively enough in the 2nd half.

 

Saturday versus Aylesbury at home and Beaconsfield away on the Monday night are now massive!
