Wembley v Croydon

Recommended Posts

Had the delightful pleasure of traveling to Wembley on sat to watch Croydon, my first away trip as a new supporter must say what a slap to get too! But a very good surface when you do.

At 2.30pm Croydon only had 7 players due to the traffic and the poxy rugby! At 2.55 had the full quota of players but the whisper was no goal keeper it didn't look good. Croydon started with an outfield player in goal who actually for the first 15 mins did well until being replaced by the normal keeper so well done that man one for the team I think. The actual game was a good one in fair the result should have been a draw a mistake at the death led to the Wembley winner but a eventful game by two good teams. I'm new to Croydon and new to the league but if we keep playing like we have the last 6-7 games a mid table top half finish is easy in our reach. Lastly can I give a mention to smudge i think his name is I would like to say your support is fantastic and do you go to every game?

Egham next we could surprise ! Tickets Please!

Thanks T.P. for your kind comments, have not missed a game this year, love the atmosphere generated from all at the Club.Committee,Management,Players,Supporters, such a togetherness.Billy Lippet was the star donning the gloves, knowing that at best he would play 15.Hope he gets a full 90 against Egham.Yes the journey over was horrendous, even the Officials were late.Must say though that the Referee Mr.S.Scott had an excellent game,in full control from start to finish, his assistants made a few errors, but equally. The Playing Surface was the best I have seen this year, both sides tried to play football in the right way.But their winner was route one,and should of been cut out,Our heads never dropped and we created a few chances in the last 5 mins, too of levelled the game.To a man we stayed in the bar longer than the other Team, same as last week at Camberley, there is camaraderie in this Croydon squad long may it last.Bring on the Egham,we fear no one.

Must say and echo your opinions the ref was very good at last! As I've been to a couple of games at home where the men in the middle have not been up to it and that's putting it in a mild manner!. I also agree that there is a sense of togetherness on the pitch and among supporters the first few games were a situation of let's find our feet which is always going to be the case, but there is a good feeling when your at a game and the management and players are all pulling in the right direction.

I've come across Fowler and davenport many moons ago as a player think it was when they both played for the other Croydon, athletic both decent players and looks like them and their other staff are putting together a good strong and very young team as I know Croydon FC have been through the mil of late so very good to see a young duo and their staff given a chance.

Smudge cannot make Saturday's game but will have me twitter on would like to know how the game goes ?

Tickets Please!
