To anyone who was standing behind the goal - did Martin Tuohy get a touch to the ball on its way into the net?

Tony,if as you say tuohy congratulated styles then styles scored,no centre forward would get a touch and then give the goal to someone else

Rob - yes, you are right. From where we were in the stand it seemed as if Tuohy got the touch. Jordan was right behind the goal, and he was in a much better position. Elliot has now scored 17 in 239 appearances, and three of the goals were scored this season.

Where does Elliot stand in overall performances for The Urchins - was he due to move up to 3rd ?

Peter Goddard - 524 apps / 25 goals

Ken Lewell - 280 / 0

Gary Moulding - 245 / 13

Elliot Styles - 239 / 17

 

These figures do not include pre-season friendlies. Since he joined HFC, Elliot has also played in 34 pre-season matches, with three goals.

 

Prior to 1960, preseason friendlies were not permitted, only matches such as Reds v Blues. The only friendly matches permitted were during the season (ie when there would otherwise have been a blank Saturday), or for tour matches post season.

 

As there are so many pre-season matches now, and the majjority of these now have multiple substitutes, I have not included them in the totals, as many are little more than training sessions.

When Elliot & Tommo went passed 200 appearances the club gave them a tankard and the Supporters Association gave them a bottle of champagne - personally I think we should recognise him going third and then do something more when he goes second or reaches 300!
